I do, I even saw what was called a "Christmas Sandwich", it had Turkey, Stuffing, Cranberry sauce and Mayonnaise, I thought the Cranberry sauce would stop them putting Mayo on, obviously not. Do you know any shops that have mayo free sandwiches?

I know you can ask for no mayo on freshly made sandwiches, but the shops I'm talking about you have a choice of what's in the fridge and that's it, they WILL NOT make sandwiches to order.

I know it's bad for you, that's one reason I don't understand, with all the health consciousness that it's still on everything.

I can't eat mayonnaise as I'm allergic to eggs. Yes, it really annoys me when I can't get a sandwich in a lot of shops. I really like prawns and have found only one shop that sells prawns without a sauce with mayo in. That shop is Doughnuts.

Tesco have Mayo free Sandwiches, and I'm pretty sure M&S do too, cause my Mam doesn't like Mayo at all, so I know where you are coming from, because half the time she ends up not buying a sandwich because they are caked in Mayo. I, on the other hand love it! But they should make equal amounts of both to appeal to everyone.

You have a good point. I like mayo but my husband doesn't and always has this problem. Some shops do pre-packaged sandwiches with no mayo - its marked on the label - I think M&S & BHS do (or at least they used to). I did used to find the no mayo sandwiches really boring though - just plain chicken or ham with no salad.

I like mayo but don't have it often because it's got lots of calories. In most places they'll hold the mayo if you ask them to without a big deal. You're right tho- the cranberry sauce would take the place of mayo, at least in my mind, too.

Different parts of the world and different parts of the country all treat mayo differently. Where I grew up it was mustard on everything and mayo on request. When we moved south I was shocked when I bit into a burger to have that stuff already on it. So now I've learned to ask ahead or just say no mayo just in case.

Mayo is the food of the devil! Its unnatural, an abomination! It's usually best described at creamy but consists of two things: egg and oil. I see no cream! To further my rant: two semi-clear items, the egg and the oil, mixing together to create white! I have tried to learn to like it but my body refuses. I feel nauseaus just typing this. Anytime I go to a restaurant that tries to put a little extra into their sandwiches, I always remember to ask to hold the mayo. Mayo is a good way for restaurants to hide dried out food. Try going to places that pride themselves in fresh bread.

I hate freaking mayo! It pisses me off that they automatically put it on everything! Now, I always say hold the mayo! Sometimes though, they still put it on & I have to send my meal back.. My boyfriend says I'm weird because everyone likes mayo but I think its really really disgusting!

Mayonnaise is a killer when it comes to watching your weight!!! Check out the calories per 100g and know how bad it is. Its ok once in a while (like eating out occasionally) but when you make stuff avoid it! Its not worth it IMO. It helps the taste but to answer the question I say, NOT REALLY.
p.s. play with the gram values to get an exact calorie amount for what u r eating.
