I was very constipated during my second pregnancy and my doctor prescribed dulcolax. It helped, but I still got very painful piles after birth. Always talk to your doctor during pregnancy, even if you think you're asking stupid questions. The best thing is to be sure that what you are doing or taking is for the best of the baby. God bless.

I was told to take senokot s when i was pregnant. The Dr. told me that it would not hurt the baby because it does not stay in your system (get absorbed). I was told to follow the instructions on the bottle and when it worked to only repeat it when necessary. It worked for me and my daughter was not harmed in any way.
hope this helps

My prenatal vitamin has some in it.... didn't "do the trick" so to speak though. Milk of Magnesia was the only thing that worked for me. Doctor told me it was fine, but you should check with yours first. I thought it tasted like mint flavored chalk.

you are not supposed to take anything that isn't on the list that your doctor gives you. dulcolax is not on my list, so i wouldn't take it.
