I think water would be the best thing for you, if you are dehydrated already then beer will just make it worse!

My 11 month old grandson has the same thing. He has been sick since Saturday night. It began with vomiting, but that seems to have stopped and now he is having diarrhea. In addition to being a grandma, I am also mom to 4 kids who are now 28, 26, 23, and 10 plus I have provided child care in my home for 20 years. My grandson won't touch the pedialyte so his doctor suggested diluted apple juice, which he will take some sips of. Your son is actually not a newborn any longer and that is good news as this type of stomach virus can put a tiny baby in the hospital in no time. Unfortunately, there is nothing much you can do for your son as these types of viruses must run their course. If he will drink the pedialyte, stick with only that for right now, maybe hold off on the formula for a little while, not because it is harmful, but it is quite nasty when thrown up. He will not suffer any long-term problems if he doesn't eat for a few days or doesn't get any formula. If he is a breast fed baby, continue to nurse him as much as he will tolerate. One of the best things to know when beginning to feel better from a stomach virus is to stick with the BRAT diet until you stop throwing up and stools are beginning to harden up. B stands for bananas, R stands for rice (white rice), A stands for applesauce, and T stands for toast (made with white bread, dry with no butter). You can also add mashed potatoes made with the smallest amount of milk for mashing and no butter. Basically anything bland and white (except milk products) with very little fiber is good. His little tummy may be cramping a bit. A hot water bottle wrapped in a towel held against his tummy may ease that. Lacking a water bottle, a heating pad set on the lowest setting can be used if you put a towel over his shirt and the heating pad on top of it. Babies do not have the ability to know not to eat too much when they have been sick so introduce solid food back into his diet slowly and in small quantities at first to make sure his stomach is ready to tolerate it. As long as he is drinking something and having wet diapers (which can be hard to tell if the diarrhea is frequent) he should be fine. If he becomes lethargic, his eyes seem sunken and his skin seems like bread dough (pinch the skin on the back of his hand, if it is elastic and returns to normal than he is fine, if you pinch it and it stays pinched for a bit, this is doughy and may indicate dehydration), he may need to be seen by his doctor. But, as long as he is drinking or eating something this is not as likely to happen. Don't give him any type of medication unless his doctor specifically instructs you to do so. Being on a liquid diet will not help him get better faster, but it will make the illness a bit more comfortable for him.

I wouldnt drink alcohol champ! It may make your problem come back---right there in the middle of all your friends---I would just drink grape juice or something. I think you may have to sit this one out. It's better to just skip the alcohol for one night then to end up sh*tting your pants infront of everyone. Thats a memory that is going to last more then one night.

Whatever. You are young and you have lots of brain cells to donate to the party. If you feel OK you are going to drink anyway. It is all the same - beer, Voddy, Jack.....hope your hangover is worth it!

Drinking a lot is NEVER a good thing. No, you shouldn't drink booze tonight. If you just HAVE to drink....then you have bigger problems.

it must be nice that all you have to worry about is how much booze you can drink. You must be a very productive member of society.
