I have taken 4 ekg's and the doctors have found nothing. My heart beats fast when i wake up and then i take a toporol pill which is a beta blocker and then when i eat it beats fast again and a couple hours later it will calm down again. When my heart is beating fast i have shortness of breath. Any ideas of what this may be? It is very scary when your heart beats this fast. Around 200 beats a minute.

It may be becuase you are hyperventilating when you wake up in the mornings. Your body is getting too much oxygen and letting go of carbon dioxide at a very high speed. If you haven't already discussed it with your doctor you should do so immediatly. Also it might be the medication that you are currently taking: toporol which causes your heart rate to be over 200 beats a minute. A normal heart rate is 60 bpm.

This isn't something to be messing around on Yahoo Answers with. It's your HEART for pity's sake! If you are not already seeing a cardiologist, ask for a referral to one.
