I've been deep frying Thanksgiving Day turkey for the last 10-12 years and since I started, nobody in my family wants it made any other way. It can be a little dangerous but careful preparation is key to a safe experience. The peanut oil is biodegradable, so I always set the cooker on a set of 4 12 x 12 popcorn stones on the grass. I keep a fire extinguisher nearby as well.
My personal choice for a good injectable marinade is a mix of orange juice, clarified butter, some cayenne pepper and a pinch of salt, usually put together the night before. I inject the marinade a few hours ahead of time to let the mixture work. The OJ infuses the meat and begins to break it down making for a really tender texture and the butter just makes it moist and tasty.
Just before cooking, I rub the turkey generously with a mix of cayenne pepper, finely ground salt and a little bit of Everglade seasoning. Figure 4 - 5 minutes per pound @ 375 - 380 degrees and when you're done, get ready for a treat.

It's the best thing ever. I always inject mine with italian dressing and it makes it taste all that much better. Deep frying turkeys keeps the juices in it. Some people think they can't have it due to it being fried, but if you take the skin off it's just as healthy as cooking it in the oven. I hope you will get to try a deep fried turkey, you will never want to have it any other way. Good luck.

I like deep fried turkey way better than oven cooked turkey. It is so juicy. I would rather have it deep fried than any other way. You should try it. I'm sure you'll love it too!

I've never had it but the most consistent compliment I've heard re deep fried turkey is that the meat is really moist- even the white meat, which can be dry.

It is very good.
If you decide to deep fry one, measure how much oil you need by putting water in the kettle with the turkey mark the line. Then kill up the kettle with oil up to the line. That way the oil won't boil over and start a fire.

Deep fried turkey is the bomb. It is usually tender and juicy, injected with spices. Sweet meat.

I like the oven roasted Turkey better.
But it's personal preference.
With those huge fryers, you're more likely to have an accident and seriously burn someone, set your house on fire, or whatever.
And the cost of the oil is ridiculous.
