It is true that Jehovah's Witnesses are not loved by everyone.
http://jw-media.org/newsroom/human_rights.htm
Some people hate Jehovah's Witnesses out of ignorance, or over some misunderstanding. A few may have had a bad personal experience with an individual who claimed to be a Jehovah's Witness, and prejudicially extended their animus to this entire Christian religion.
However, it seems that the majority of anti-Witness hatred is motivated by religious intolerance and bigotry. A few may even be motivated against their Christian worship by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.
(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers
Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:
(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.
(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.
(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

Would you call, telling everyone to stay away from Satan, Judging him? Would you call someone whom follows a different Jesus, then that of the Bible a Christian There are facts and then there is Judging. Using good common sense is not Judging someone. I've never considered a Catholics, as a whole, not to be Christian. However that is different with the JW's as I feel very strongly they have a different Jesus then that of the Bible. So can you be a Christian if you follow someone that is not the Christ, or proclaim someone else is the Christ?

Do you know about every religion on earth? Do you spend time listening to every Hare Krishna, Mormon or Pentecostal that approaches you in the street? Then why expect everyone to know or want to know about Jehovah's Witnesses?
The Watchtower Society is just another insignificant group out of 30,000 Christian sects. Many religions think that they are the only ones with truth. Would you ever become a Mormon? Well few Mormons would ever become JWs, because are equally convinced only they know truth.
I recommend you read Steven Hassans "Releasing the Bonds" to learn how high control groups use mind control methods to make their followers think that only they have truth.

I'm sorry you've experienced this, but anyone who knocks on anyone else's door for ANY reason would have to expect a certain degree of door-slamming. I personally am not unkind, but I do get very uncomfortable. It's my understanding that JW are not encouraged to have friendships with non-JW unless they are in a discipling role, or trying to convert the non-JW. Since I have no desire to change my religion, how long would I let this continue...it's a waste of my time & theirs.

People always judge what they do not know. We have been conditioned from birth to believe one way and one way only. What ever religion you were taught as a child stands strong in ones soul because to change what we are taught is scary. If we dissect and divert from what we know the truth might be revealed and what if its not what we have been taught. You be who you are and people will slam the door in your face but you could possibly save a life. You could give a person who has never been taught any religion, hope, who knows what religion is wrong or right. Forget what lies are out there you can not convince everyone to see as you. Don't try to save the world if you can help inspire a sense of hope in one person you have done your job. Why do we always look to religion to inspire hope? Why do we not look to each other? We all have a cross to bear and we are lucky if we find one person who cares enough to help lighten the load.

It's just like in Noah's day, he was told to go out and warn the others that god was going to flood the world because of all the wickedness and badness going on in the world. No one listened to him and they ridiculed him to. Then the flood came and destroyed all those that didn't listen to gods warning.
Same thing is going to happen again Jehovah's Witnesses are going out and warning the world what is coming and giving people the opportunity to learn whats required to serve god and have the opportunity to live in gods earthly paradise.
If people don't want to hear that hen thats there choice but it will come to pass just as all the other prophecies in the bible have. God is not a liar what he says will happen will come even if it seems like it won't to our human eyes.

If you're a JW, than you should be well aware of what the bible says about this subject: People as a whole are going to treat JW's as they treated Christ, some will take it and be happy and others don't want it, they'll reject it and might even hurt you in the process.
By the way Christ told his followers, "to preach this good news and then the end will come". This is a blanket statement, JW's will keep preaching until God tells them to stop.

Most people slam doors out of fear, fear of learning the truth of who they actually are worshiping, and if you are a JW'S you know that answer. This old world is passing away soon and with it those who refuse to learn who the one only God is; Jehovah God. People of today are full hate and distrust because of Satans horrible ways. He is so active NOW at the end he just doesn't know who to attack, it could be you and me, too. When someone slams the door think of it as their choice to choose life or death.

Jesus said: 'if the world hated me, so also will it hate you'. This prophecy of Jesus is just being fulfilled. So, if you are a JW be glad when people say all sort of evil things against you; for your reward is great.
However, some also have become wary of you. Why? Because of wrong teachings such as the 1914, etc.
But, the big but, console yourselves. Even Paul said that they prophecied partially. If the 1st century christians got some things wrong so also would modern followers of Christ make erros.

Some people don't want you to "help them find jehovah". I know I don't. However, for anyone out there who wants them to leave you alone, try what my dad did. When they came to the door, he appeared amiable and questioning. Then when the one young kid said "Well, Mr. So-and-so, don't you think that all the violence and death in the world are present because people don't believe in God?" My dad answered, "No, John, because God doesn't exist." They ran away from the house like they were waiting for another Soddom and Gomorrah. They've never come back, so it sure worked.
