u wont be dizzy after using it once....theres almost no way you can use it on someone in any type of fight. its more or an acrobatic show move. i know they do it in wushu a lot maybe capoeira, any performing art....its really not that hard to learn

but thru your description i dont think you are talking bout a butterfly kick

From your description it sounds more like a barrel roll kick, a tchnique found in Capoeira. I have seen the technique used occasionaly, but it is difficult to use in combat against multipel opponents.

The butterfly kick is a technique where jou jum into the air and perform an inside crescent kick followed by spinning reverse back roundhouse kick. It is found mostly in Kung fu styles and is used as both a means of evading a low attack and launching an attack against an apponent while changeing direction. Not a difficult technique to learn or to use. I have used it effectively in combat myself although it is a move that shouldn't be used more than a couple of times in any single fight as it becomes predictable to an experienced opponent.

They are worthless unless you are doing a demo team thing. They are the same as spinning heel kicks or jumping turning round house kicks. As far as using those stupid TKD flashy kicks in a fight? You are kidding yourself if you can use it on anyone other than a lame wad. The only effective kick you should ever use while turning your back to an opponent is the spinning back kick like GSP gave to Hughes in the last UFC fight... NEVER turn your back in a fight.

Those high kicks are telegraphed no matter how good you are at them... just wait for them to come back down to the ground and Nail em on the way down.... they wont try that BS again.

I fought in a TKD tournament and some idiot tried a jumping turning round kick, I just waited for him to turn and pushed him out of the ring. He looked like an idiot. I didnt get any points because it wasnt a strike, but he also flew 15 feet and landed on his tail bone. He learned his lesson and never threw it again that fight.
