Islam believes Jesus was another prophet while Christians believe he was the Son of God and Savior, correct? So then, what is the difference between Judaism and Islam?
Also, I saw somewhere that the Quran tells the Islamic people that if they come across anyone who does not believe as they do, that they should get rid of that person? I heard that and have a hard time believing it. Someone tell me if there is something close to that in the Quran and if so, what does it mean?

Jesus in Christianity
Second person of the Trinity. He is the word who became flesh (John 1:1, 14). He is both God and man (Col. 2:9). The sacrifice of Christ on the cross (1 Pet. 2:24) whereby His blood becomes the sacrifice that turns away the wrath of God (1 John 2:2) from the sinner when the sinner receives (John 1:12), by faith (Rom. 5:1), the work of Christ on the cross. Salvation is a free gift of God (Eph. 2:8-9) to the person who trusts in Christ and His sacrifice on the cross. He is our mediator (1 Tim. 2:5). No works are sufficient in any way to merit salvation since our works are all unacceptable to God (Isaiah 64:6).
Jesus in Islam
A very great prophet, second only to Muhammad. Jesus is not the son of God (9:30) and certainly is not divine (5:17, 75)) and he was not crucified (4:157). A literal son of God. Therefore, Jesus cannot be the son of Allah.Jesus did not die on the cross. Instead, God allowed Judas to look like Jesus and he was crucified instead. Judgement Day occurs on the day of resurrection where God will judge all people. Muslims go to paradise (3:142, 183-185, 198). All others to hell (3:196-197). Judgment is based on a person's deeds (5:9; 42:26; 8:29).

The Qur'an tells muslims to kill and go to war to fight for Islam: Surah 2:191; 2:193; 3:118; 4:75,76; 5:33, 8:12; 8:65; 9:5; 9:73,123; 33:60-62.

Kill the Muslim who leaves Islam: "...for the Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him,'" (Hadith Vol. 4, Book 52, #260). He goes as far as to kill those who leave Islam. What is still valid in Islamic Countries today.

The Qur'an is the single most important authority in all of Islam. It is the scripture given from Allah through the angel Gabriel. Does the Qur'an teach Jihad? Absolutely yes. As you will see in the following quotes from the Qur'an, Holy War is definitely taught and encouraged.

"Truly Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in battle array, as if they were a solid cemented structure," (Surah 61:4).

"Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress limits...191And slay them wherever ye catch them. and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for persecution is worse than slaughter; But fight them not at the sacred Mosque unless they (first) fight you there; But if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who reject faith. 192 But if they cease, Allah is oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. 193And fight them on until there is no more persecution. And the religion becomes Allah's. But if they cease, Let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression" (The Qur'an, Surah 2:190-193). They are told to fight until there is no other religion except Islam.
"Allah's Apostle said, "Allah guarantees (the person who carries out Jihad in His Cause and nothing compelled him to go out but Jihad in His Cause and the belief in His Word) that He will either admit him into Paradise (Martyrdom) or return him with reward or booty he has earned to his residence from where he went out." Volume 9, Book 93, Number 555: Narrated Abu Huraira.
Non-believers had the choice to either accept Islam or die. What choice would any one take when his life is threatend. What reason would God have for innocent people to die? Mohammed had 600 Jewish Men beheaded and thrown in a pit. Their wifes and Children became his Slaves. Is this the way a Messenger of God behaves?

The main differences between Islam & Christianity:
1- Trinity, Muslims believe there is only one God who has no son.
2- Jesus, Muslims belive he is a great prophet of God, not son of God, that he was raised to heaven, and waiting for his second coming.
3- Gospel, Muslims believe that the NT was written by people and not the true Gospel of Jesus.
4- Muhammed, Christians do not believe in Muhammed as a prophet.
5- Quran, Christians believe that Quran is a book & written by people (while not and this is very complicated issue that I cannot explain).

Judaism & Islam, there are many similarities, the differences are that:
1- Muslims believe that Jews altered their book (Torah).
2- Jews don't believe in Muhammed & Jesus, 2 prophets that Islam conised belief in them as one of the Islamic faith principles.

About killing the non-Muslims:
That was during a war, Quran instructed Muslims to kill the nonbelievers for selfdefense.

I hope this clarify it for you.

Judaism doesnt believe in Jesus, they believe Moses is the final prophet. Islam beleievs in both, however Muhammad (PBUH) is the final prophet sent by God.
There is no such thing as the quran saying that we should get rid of non-believers. Dont trust any website or book you read about quranic translations. There are many out there that try to destroy the image of this religion. As a matter of fact, chapter 109 (called the Disbelievers or athiests) in the quran that says:

Say: O unbelievers!

I worship not that which ye worship,

Nor will ye worship that which I worship.

And I will not worship that which ye have been wont to worship,

Nor will ye worship that which I worship.

You shall have your religion and I shall have my religion.

so its clear, that islam doesnt opress its belief on anyone, and muslims shouldnt hurt or kill or harm disbelievers in anyway. Its a choice that we respect.

That is the main difference, you are correct. Abrahams sons were Isaac and Ishmael. Ishmael was banished from the tribes of the Jews, but God promised that he would prosper the sons of Ishmael (Islam) but stated that the messiah would come from the Jews. Both religions believe in the Old testament, and that is where Islam falls down, because if the Old testament is true, then Jesus is the son of God.

I do not believe that the quran tells people to kill non believers, but I don believe that it tells them to have as little to do with them as possible lest they corrupt the believer. This is where extremism comes in.

Well it is not so simple as that. Christianity is a religion based on the concept of Jesus Christ. Islam is based on the teachings of Mohammed. Judaism is the precursor to Christianity. They are still expecting the Messiah (Christians believe Jesus is this person). You should be careful where you get your infomation about the Quran and what it says. There are many misconceptions about what everyone believes and practises in their faith.

It's all semantics. If you think about it, Jesus was also a prophet.

Prophet

A person who speaks by divine inspiration or as the interpreter through whom the will of a god is expressed.

A person gifted with profound moral insight and exceptional powers of expression.

The Quran does not say to kill people who do not believe as you do, but it's been interpreted that way so now everyone thinks that it does.

It is in the Judeo-Christian text, 2 Chronicles 15:13 "That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman."

Muslims and Jews do not drink alcohol or eat pork. Male babies must be circumcised. These are the similarities I am aware of. I don't know the differences.
The Quran tells Mohammed (pbuh) to fight back the infidles who gathered an army to wipe out Islam just when it started. Do you expect God to let the few Muslims be killed without self defense?
We are not ordered to kill non-Muslims. The Quran says: "he who kills a person intentionally, will burn in everlasting fire". Full stop. How can I have a right to kill non-Muslims?
Do not listen to Islamic extremists.

i believe the difference is a bit more complicated than that, but i'm not an expert. this is what i think is the basis of the difference:

for christians, jesus is the son of god.
for islam, jesus is just a prophet. after jesus came mohamed, another prophet. he is the latest version of the teachings, or if you will, the newest upgrade.
for judaism, i don't think they even believe jesus was a prophet, if anything, a false prophet, who lead believers astray. they also do not believe in mohamed.

In Judaism, they do NOT believe that Jesus was the Saviour or a prophet. They do believe in God.

Actually, in Leviticus in the Bible, it actually states that we should "stone anyone who believes in false idols or worships someone other than the one true God"

The interesting retrospective here is that those of us who became Christians for believing in Jesus...if you look at it from a different angle and believed he was just a man... it looked like WE were worshiping a false prophet.

So the old testament, the Torah, the Quran, they all mention that we should be evangelists for our faith, believe in only one supreme being... and in old days, apparently, stone anyone who didn't follow your god.
