Also, I'm not Catholic and do not believe in any of the unnecessary things like praying to statues and thinking about what mother teresa did and to follow her example, you know that i haven't been filled wit the holy spirit but I know it is through jesus alone....

The important thing here is to keep asking questions. Keep searching. Jesus is there waiting to hear from you. You will not have a relationship with Him until you have asked Him to come into your heart and life. You don't have to search Him out. He is always right there but you do have to let him know. If you are not ready to accept Him yet then pray for Him to guide you to the answers you are seeking.
When you are ready (which hopefully is sooner rather than later) then just talk to Him the way you would talk to anyone. There is nothing special that has to be said or done. Speak from your heart. It may seem weird at first but just keep at it. When you have finally decided to accept Christ and ask for forgiveness you will see the difference in yourself. It is not some magical transformation. It is not some euphoric feeling you get when you do. And in fact you may not even feel anything. But slowly you will notice changes in your thinking. Being a Christian does not make life easier. You actually have to work hard to make these desired changes. To do what you know to be the right thing. But the difference is now you have the power to do it with His help.
Remember.....if in doubt.....pray! God will help you find a way.

~~ Emily,,, First you have to accept the concept of whether "god" is External, the Judeo/Christian/Islamic Concept,,, or is "god" Internal, and is, and Always has been a part of You. From The Sermon on The Mount Jesus said in no uncertain terms and NOT in metaphor that (paraphrase) "Ye are my brothers and sisters,,,,and Our Father who art in Heaven,,," etc. So you can see by some simple Christian scripture that you are Already full of Godstuff. Now exercise your god-given gift of freewill by practicing The Golden Rule and make Your World a better place and this Atheist will do the same in mine,,, and we will both have achieved our Spiritual Mission. This is The Place where Jesus resides,,,, as in your Heart,,, and not in the Dogma of a "church".

You of little faith.
Will you commit yourself to a person you want to marry and he does loves you but vice versa you do not love him or have faith in him? You just want the status..
Unfortunately, this is what you are doing. You want easy and instant gratification. You deserve what you earn.
Jesus Christ is not a glamour guy or the Hollywood idol type you are seeking. If you want to see Him look at the many faces of homeless, hungry downtrodden, oppressed, exploited and persecuted people. He is there, He is not in some castles in the air having fun with all the pretty ladies. You want to find Him, follow the steps of Mother Teresa.

I dont know if this will help you, but I am concerned. I too strive to relate to our Lord and Saviour Jesus in a very personal way. I know if you are new to the faith or just so you could at times feel like ur 'disconnected'. I am a catholic christian and I believe that Jesus is in the Blessed Sacrament (if you dont believe so please respect me as I am trying to help you). The thing is that Jesus said throughout the Gospels that he will manifest Himself in This humble form. I googled this up in case you need the quotes: http://www.therealpresence.org/eucharst/scrip/a6.html
Anyway the point of this is since I believe that he is present in the Holy Eucharist I believe its just like 2000 years ago! At Eucharistic Adoration people come to worship Him like all christians do BUT THERES A DIFFERENCE! Here I know that our Lord is physically present before me and I promise you that I can feel His powerful presence. In fact if you open yourself to Him you can feel His peace, joy and love in such an indescribable manner!!!! I dont know if you are catholic but I suggest you go for an Hour of Eucharistic Adoration, just sit at the back, bring a bible and just meet out Lord! Read the bible there or whatever makes you comfortable. If you cannot go physically there or are not interested then I STRONGLY suggest you goto http://savior.org/ , its an online LIVE webcam of Jesus present in the Eucharist. Just go to the site and pray to the Holy Spirit to fill you with the peace love and Joy that only comes from our loving savior and Lord Jesus.
If you dont believe in this, I can understand. Please at least read the Gospels daily, truly meditating on them carefully. Read one chapter at a time.
I hope this helps you.

I know Jesus Christ as my savior. Sometimes u just got to believe he's there. When i got saved my life got harder. I mean everyone usually thinks once ur saved u have the easy life. But most of the times it gets harder so you can prove your faithful. I went through the stage for 2 yrs not even talkin to him. Then i got back on track. Sometimes you just know he's there. And you just got to trust he's there. But when i think he's not real. the q comes:How did earth come about? A lot of people say stars? But who created the stars. The heavens and the earth? Who? There's too many religions to know which is rite. Guess its just whats rite for you.Do you have any one you can talk to a pastor or your parents? Sometimes they can help u. To accept him: You just got to believe he's there. And tell him you know you've done wrong. Ask him for forgiveness and to come into your heart. Sometimes you got to to believe things you just can't see. You mite not know him but he's helped you in more than one way since you were born

If you are serious, then you are on the right track. You must FIRST accept HIM as your Savior and repent of your sins. THEN you will get to know Him on a personal level, more and more, as you study the Bible (preferably in a Trinity teaching church). By the Grace of God you will then no longer be sliding down to hell, Praise God!
Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving. (You could have one more thing to be thankful for). ;-)

i think you have the idea because otherwise you do not talk about him,you are not lost just you do not have not knowledege about it,i suggest that visit an institute(like the assembly of christians churches or pentecostals)study the levels and you will get the answer,i was like you but i found a lot of religious people without knowledge too!it means they go to the church but they do not study the main christian handbook=the holy bible,go and after that let me know.you do not know jesus until you have a closer relationship like any person around.

Just the fact that you care shows alot about you. Keep learning about Jesus life and teachings. Ask questions at church. Talk to Jesus about your feelings. He is speaking to your soul or you wouldn't be asking these questions.
Also a relationship with God isn't always rosy. Some days I can "feel" Him more than others, but I still know that He is there.
Keep searching. It's worth it.

You shouldn't expect to feel God/Jesus immediately. Put the truth first, start walking with God and you'll find that the feelings come.
We don't need to have feelings for something to be real. Often, because of where we are coming from as people, we think we do, but this is a mistake.
Sometimes we need to be changed, to be less feelings orientated, so that we can tune in better to the God who is there and who wants us to walk closely with him whether we feel that we want to or not.

Ask Him to reveal Himself. He knows when the heart is sincere in truly wanting to know Him and let Him in. And when He feels that sincere heart tugging on Him, He'll move all heaven and earth to get to that heart if He has to. If you've been sincere, if you've been crying out in sincere hunger to know Him, then don't be discouraged. He's in the process of doing some heaven and earth moving. He will break through. Just be sure to stay in that place of sincerity so that He still can find you when He does break through.
Ask, seek, knock. Matthew 7:7-8.
I especially appreciate the way the Amplified Bible says it:
Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you.
For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened.
