Depends on age. She probably doesn't know because she doesn't have the muscle strength to hold it. Also, most kids will say this if they think they are in trouble. Don't reprimand her for soiling her pants.. try to help her to learn to know when she has to go. Start by asking her every hour or two if she has to use the restroom or even just take her to the bathroom and have her try to go. This should help her get some muscle control. If it keeps happening take her to a ped or family doc to see if there is a medical problem. If there is anything going on in the home that may be upsetting her then she might be doing this for attention. The best bet is to sit her down and talk to her about it(assuming she is older than a toddler). Don't start off saying: Why did you soil your pants? Start off by asking if everything is OK? Is anything bothering her? Watch from her reaction, I can always tell if something is the matter with my daughter by the way she looks when she answers that question. If she is doing it all the time: I would seek medical help but I know that my daughter used to soil her pants while playing because she didn't want to interrupt her play to go to the bathroom. There are so many things to look at before screaming sexual or physical or mental abuse. Well, hope this helped some. Good Luck and be patient!!!!

Depends on how old the child is and what soils means. Is it pee or poop? It really depends on the age. If the child just got potty trained, it's probably an accident. If the child is older, it may be acting out. This isn't a pleasant thought, but it could be a sign of sexual abuse when a child starts to soil itself. It's far fetched, but you may want to consider it... Or tjhe child could just be having too much fun playing and forget or can't be bothered with using the toilet. Maybe is she's old enough, you could have her clean out the underwear herslef so she will learn her lesson. But only if she's older than, say 6 or 7.

I'm confused..are you saying she soils her underwear when she is in the shower?..she cries in the shower?

She is 8, so she is clearly potty trained..if it is something uncontrollable, you need to get it checked..she could be allergic to some food, and this is diarrhoea she can't control..it could be nerves..is something happening in her home that is upsetting her?..or at school? If she has a nervous stomach, this could happen. Or maybe she is not wiping afterwards well enough?..If it is not because she not wiping well enough, you defiantly have to take her to a Dr to have her thoroughly checked over for any medical reasons that this is happening. I am sure the poor girl feels so embarrassed by all this. Support her with comfort..get her checked, and work from there.

its hard to say without really knowing whats going on with the child at home or the childs age....some children just have an over-active bladder, which means that the childs bladder needs to be grown into...some children might have accidents because their in an abusisive situation, (which i hope better not be the case), and some kids just try to hold it, unsuccessfully, because they are playing and dont want to stop. There are really so many reasons for a child to have an 'accident,'........you could try the Good Nights diapers for older children until she can feel confident that she can make it to the bathroom on time....Keep in mind that yelling or punishing a child for something like this is not going to resolve the issue...it'll probably make matters worse.

Well, it can be caused by a number of reasons. It can be that the child has a bladder that has not quite caught up in size with the rest of her body as is the case with my own child. I was told by her doctor that her body has developed faster than her bladder therefore not allowing it to store as much fluids as she is putting in to her belly. If it is excrement that you speak of, it can be that the child is either not recognizing the sensation of "having to go" or is ignoring it for whatever reason. In that case if the child does this on a constant basis, you may want to implement a cause and effect scenario. If the child soils the garment, he/she will be responsible for washing said piece.

You need to address the issue with a doctor. How old is she?
It could be number of reasons. she could be stressed scared maybe touched in the wrong way and does not know how to deal with it. Either way she is afraid of someone or something you shoul seek some professional help.
But what ever you do do not get mad with her or blame her let her know that you are there for her and want to help. Sh just may open up to you.

my niece had the same problem when she was younger and it haven't been a problem since. maybe you should go to the doctor and ask about this and it could be something wrong with her bladder and also you should give her a good nights and it could help because every time she needs to go she can get up in the middle of the night and go to the bathroom. it could help and the problem might get solve if you do this method. also she might think she might get in trouble because she use the bathroom on her self but tell her without yelling that she shouldn't be afraid to tell you that she use it on herself and try to help find a way to stop using on herself. maybe have a nightlight or something that might help her because it could be that . hope you get to the bottom of this.
good luck!

I would take her to counseling. My daughter did this all the time it was so frustrating. But she had problems...counseling is a good way to find out what's wrong with your little one. She may not know why she's doing it. It might be a cry for help, please don't ignore that cry. You could even start just at the doctors to be sure nothings wrong with her body, then if thats ok, ask the doctor for some numbers to call. You're little girl sounds like she's reaching out for help, please do help her.

she could possibly have a medical problem so i would advise a doctor, it is also a sign of emotional problems or physiological problems. she could be being abused mentally, sexually or physically. there could be a lot of reasons for this problem. if she is your child take her to the doctor and let someone she can relate to talk to her. if she is someone Else's child investigate the problem and try to help her. maybe it is only a medical problem, or that is what you pray it is versus the other problems.

good luck!
