It is not weird at all.

My best friend proposed to her boyfriend (now her husband of 7 years). I helped her pick out the engagement ring (obviously a man`s engagement ring, LOL)
He thought it was wonderful! And proudly showed it off.
And he was an army man too. So it`s not a thing about manliness at all.
If you love each other, and want to get married, then there is nothing wrong with the woman proposing first.

Heck, if there was something culturally wrong with it, why would they sell those rings at the jewelry store, eh?

Congratulations!!

No, it doesn't sound stupid at all.

You love the guy, you want to marry him, so why not do the asking (it's better than 'hinting' him to ask you!)

It's nice that he's going to be wearing an engagement ring too. I always thought it was sexist that women got engagement rings (so everybody would know their "taken") but men didn't have them (so they'd appear to be single til the day they got married)

Good luck - and I hope he says "yes"!

its not stupid, its different thats all. So many people now a days are not doing things traditionaly, they want to do something different. I am sure if he will love it, and it will be a huge surprise to him, which makes it even better. Guys usually propose because us girls believe that they should be the ones to make the next step. But really we should wait on them, we should take more controll. I say go for it!!!

Honestly...... yeah, I know that is not the politically correct answer, but it still is. Come on, be real, you wouldn't of had to ask if you really didn't think so yourself.

Now if you had of asked if it is okay well then the answer would be of course it is. Depending on how old fashioned the guy is towards that kind of stuff though, he may not like it. Try to feel him out first if you are thinking of proposing.

It's not weird but it is unusual. Don't be surprised if your boyfriend is taken aback by it, and don't be surprised if he has a problem with it because of the whole tradition of the man proposing to the woman. Doesn't mean he doesn't love you; he just may not know how to respond. Best of luck!

At this day and age it's perfectly natural for a girl to propose to a guy. I say if you want to propose to your boyfriend, don't just sit there....GO FOR IT! Good Luck.

in my view i might ask a guy out, yet i wouldent propose to a guy,lol propsing to a guy, i wouldent try this. i think of its o.k., because of the fact the guy could desire to be shy, or purely could desire to no longer recognize your interested in him, so flow forward. Its a sparkling day and age. lol

Its really up to you, and how you feel about your relationship.

Hey look at the singer "Pink", she proposed to her boyfriend (he had proposed to her over a dozen times)
