I know this sounds crazy but everytime I switch to sprite (my favorite drink) I get a sore/scratchy throat. Is it just a coincidence that it happens when I start drinking sprite regularly or does or can Sprite actually cause my throat to become sore/scratchy?

You're allergic to a chemical in Sprite. I have the same problem with certain juices.

Stop drinking it. If you really enjoy it, then drink it in moderation. If it hurts too much, you should stop. Find an alternative.

If it happens "every time", then it's probably not just a coincidence. You may be mildly allergic to something in sprite. Sprite doesn't normally induce those symptoms, but people have allergies to various things. You may just have a reaction to sprite.

Perhaps you have an allergy to something in the Sprite. Sprite is now all natural, so check the ingredients and see if you can pinpoint what it may be.

It's very possible. I'm get like that with iced tea (actually iced tea, not the sugar kind). For some reason, a few hours after I drink it, my throught gets sore and scratchy, and I end up sick. I dunno why it happens, but you're not the only one out there..
