i've used anything from milenium, ink-flo,intenze, to star brite and iron butterfly ink by starbrite, but yet to use the iron butterfly ink.

i found milenium to be the worst, ink-flo was the best result i've ever had at first. then came along starbrite black outline ink...this is the best black i've used.....i use this for shading too..is that bad for long term?

I've been a long time fan of Star Brite ink. Having used Pelikan yellow label for years as outline ink, I agree with the Star Brite being a vast improvement. However, the Pelikan still works very well for graywash. SB Black Magic is my solid black of choice.

I haven't really had much need to try other brands, though. I have looked into Intenze, and have heard that Fantasia inks are very good...I'll have to try before I'd be able to offer any first hand experience.

also to answer you question kid... bloodline tattoo ink and Intenze tattoo ink are top of the line a little expensive for some but its worth it. Its the longest lasting tattoo ink brand. You can find it on amazon or Ebay. Also would like to add that there is nothing wrong with being a scratcher I have 5 friends I work with in my basement and we run our own little / "Big" shop :) We are an official business. And remember just cause you are not working in a shop dose not make you unprofessional so don't let assholes like the wannabe "tatman" bring you down its not about the women or the popularity or the professional cocky ego so keep improving and read a lot of books and study hard.

My husband likes skin candy (they use it on Miami ink) the best. He says its easier to work with and the black stays looking really black. He uses scream ink and wizard ink also but likes skin candy the best. He also uses his black ink to shade with and has never had any problems short or long term in doing so. He's been an artist for over 15 years.

I think it is a matter of opinion, but I like the intenze ink because the colors are so bright, but I use the Japanese ink for black, that works the best for me.

I haven't got a clue. I would think any of those that keep your tatoo colorful or black instead of faded would be the best. BIG TAT FAN. I just hate it when I get a tat that is mixed with water tat stays bright for the healing proccess and thats it. Try www. miami ink.com

It all depends on what is in style. Try a fasion magazine there might be something good on the subject in there.
