Yes, we should be so thankful to live in a free democracy, where even an illegal can survive and find a better life....We may not all agree, but I, for one, have so much to be thankful for, living in this great country.....

For everyone here who seems to only look at the negative side of Thanksgiving, just remember that it was the ENGLISH settlers that are responsible for the death of a huge portion of the native population. The U.S. was still 156 years away from coming into existence during the first thanksgiving in 1620. At the time, the settlers were getting along very well with the Indians. Originally, it was meant to give thanks to the Indians for helping the settlers survive, as well as their new freedoms in the new world. So often we take things for granted. It's a good idea to set some time aside and realize how thankful we really should be for all the commodities in our 21st century lives.

The Pilgrims were not immigrants, they were colonists. (talk to England about that one) I am thankful for my life and my family and I fear that all of that is coming to an end because my government refuses to address this issue and enforce our laws. I have no hate towards anyone but my feeling is simple, if I break the law then I get held accountable, why then do those who come from other places who break the law by their arrival alone do not even get noticed much less punished? I guess the law only applies to citizens and people who immigrate illegally are above it.

I think some people confuse uncomfortable truths with hate. It is a big problem on this site. If you don't like an opinion just call it hate, and sprinkle in a few accusations of racism to top it off. I am not angry or hateful, and look forward to serving a big tasty dinner to my family. My grown hispanic kids will be coming with their dates, and I assure you that they know I don't hate anyone who isn't hurting me.

There is hate in the immigration section everyday. The day before Thanksgiving is not going to be an exception.

But speaking of Thanksgiving, I will be thankful when we start enforcing our laws and deport the illegal immigrants.

Yes I am thankful that the American people no we are being invaded, and I am thankful that the illegal Mexicans showed their as*es when the marched, and woke us up to the fact we are being invaded. Now if we can get the politicians to get off their as*es and do their job by enforcing our laws, and deport their as*es. I will be even more thankful. Deport all illegals not just Mexicans, but all.

yeah, it's a day we're letting the visitors enjoy because they have jobs here and get free medical care.

Can't figure out just what you're asking.

those of us who live here legally celebrate Thanksgiving regularly, we don't need a holiday designated for it to mean more.

I am not a hater. This is a forum where one can express their opinion like you have expressed yourself.

Happy Thanksgiving ya'll!
