I went in the kitchen and popped like 5 natural vitamin C pills into my mouth, plus a vitamin. Did I take too much Vitamin C? And is taking 5 pills too much?

Oh, and the reason why I took so much is because I have a canker sore and it's really bothering me (I usually get them once every month, don't know why) so Mom said I need vitamin C so I went in the the kitchen and ate 5 pills.

Linus Pauling used to take 17000 mg a day. He lived to be 93 years old, and never got colds.
I always advise people to take 2-3 grams of Vitamin C a day in divided doses. The body will excrete a large per cent of this in most normal circumstances, but if you are ill or have an infection, you may be able to take even larger doses with good effect. A sign that you are getting too much C is watery diarrhea. Divided dosing helps relieve this problem as does reducing your intake by one or two pills. Vitamin C has never produced a documented case of kidney stones.
Have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving!

Yes, but don't worry about it. Most likely, one pill was 100% of the vitamin C you need in a day, but you'll just void the unused vitamins in your urine. Your urine may look darker than normal, but that's just the vitamins passing. You won't do any damage to your body, as long as this is not a regular occurance-if it is, you'll be taxing your liver and kidneys by having them try to process so much vitamin C.

If you're looking for a good canker sore medication try Zilactin it's way better than Abreva and less expensive. I swear by it.

vitamin C is water soluble, which means your body eliminates what it does not need. it is better to spread it out through out the day
