So, god created us in his likeness... . Which likeness were we created in... Black, white, yellow, brown, light brown, deep tanned skin, black hair, blond hair, blue eyes, brown eyes...Tall, short, fat, thin ? (From my own view point it must be ... short fat and balding ... but I am biased!)

Wooo! You really wound up the god-botherers with that one!
I think god must be about 5ft 6, light to medium brown, brown eyes, slightly receding, IQ of 100, and 10% gay.
That would be a good representation of his creation.

I don't believe in it..
But as far as I know the idea of getting a 'likeness' to God is apparently we were born to live out God's will..
And the 10 commandments also come into it,we are supposedly meant to be the way God wants us to be,such as be kind to the people around you, treat everyone fairly etc.
So therefore our 'likeness' is just meant to be the way we act would be similar to the way God acted, and the way we're supposedly expected to be acting.
I hope this has in some way helped to answer your question..

Made in the likeness of his Grand Creator, Adam had the divine attributes of love, wisdom, justice, and power; hence he possessed a sense of morality involving a conscience, something altogether new in the sphere of earthly life. In the image of God, Adam was to be a global administrator and have in subjection the sea and land creatures and the fowl of the air.
It was not necessary for Adam to be a spirit creature, in whole or in part, to possess Godlike qualities. God formed man out of the dust particles of the ground, put in him the force of life so that he became a living soul, and gave him the ability to reflect the image and likeness of his Creator.

Man creates his own god, so yours will be short fat and balding.

All of the above. God is not one thing, he is everything. We have infinite combinations of eyes, skin colors, height....to remind of us of the infinity that is God.
And no, there is nothing wrong with thinking of God as short, fat and balding, That is one of the many things he is.

The metaphor indicates
a) sharing a spiritual essence
b) participating in creativity (stewardship)
c) rationality
d) compasssion/love/agape/will
it is not meant to convey anything *physical* as you have indicated.
P.S. keep in mind I'm not a believer, but this is the answer regardless, and believers will concur.

Since God is a spirit we were originally created in his spiritual likeness with our own free will.

Who cares? When we see Him we'll see Him as He is because we'll be like Him. Red, yellow, black, white, none of that will even be part of the equation. If it were to be part of that equation, the Word would have stated it.

We were created in His likeness. But God is not human, limited to one form. God is GOD, all powerful and divine, without limit. He looks like every one of us that has ever been, is now, and ever will be. Kinda cool, huh?
