Anything I can do to season it?

actually we deep fry ours every year and honestly dont like seasoning...we always buy a butterball and use peanut oil (as long as no one is allergic) and find that it needs no seasoning...to me, when you inject it there are three problems..
1) the seasoning overpowers the turkey
2) the seasoning doesnt distribute well
3) the injection sites come out hard and unedible

with using a butterball and not seasoning, it tastes just like it has been salted....its great that way!!

There isn't much to do, maybe a spice rub or something. Be careful when deep frying it, don't put too much oil in, you can always add more if the turkey isn't completely covered in it. Make sure the deep fryer can hold the whole turkey, you are able to get it out, and that someone can watch it at all times. I hope I helped!

Edit: oh yeah, the first answerer mentioned injecting it. That would be an awesome idea!

Rub the turkey with seasoning just as you would for roasting in the oven. I prefer to rub the seasoning under the skin. Try not to pierce or break the skin of the turkey. that keeps the meat moist

I agree a deep fried turkey need to be injected. It is much easier for the seasoning to stay on it.

What ever you use remember to THAW THE TURKEY FIRST!!!!!

This is not like cheese sticks that go in frozen it needs to be thawed or you will have a very big grease splash which usually results in pain for someone.

The only thing I've seen done to season a deep fried turkey is marinading it......and it was DELICOUS!!
