I think so. At least theoretically and it is probably coming back.

In Theravada Buddhism, the oldest buddhism, I think the theravada bhikkhunis (female monks) have been non-existent since the 11th century. Although I'm guessing there might be some attempts to recreate the bhikkhuni monasteries.

Mahayana buddhism I don't know. It is the more liberal version of buddhism, however its monasteries seem to be occupied by male monks only. Maybe there are some bhikkhuni monasteries in Mahayana Buddhism.
