Dress up is fun but if it's getting in the way of daily functioning it may be a problem. When your at home I'd let him wear it if he wants. For school and going out on a regular basis I would explain that the costume is ok at ahome but not at school. When he gets home later he can wear it if he chooses to.

I would let him wear it. I have had lots of kids in daycare that do that. It is just a phase. If it becomes an issue maybe you can take him to the Disney Store and let him pick out a Tigger T-shirt to ware instead. Make a deal with him that the costume is for home and the T-shirt is worn out. I also feel that if you were to take it away in the night that he may start having trouble sleeping. He is exploring who he is. It will be OK.

I would say its pretty normal, i mean atleast hes not putting up makeup & highheels & painting his nails lol. He probably just likes it & loves Tigger!! I would ask him why he wears it and likes it, and maybe if it goes on for a longer period of tiem than you feel comfortable with, make a big deal out of him getting a new outfit and say that teh costume is too old & he will get a different oen next year but they are really only used ofr speical occassions so you get to get a new out fit!! and take him with you and let him pick out his outfit , and sinces he such a big fan of tigger, maybe get him a tigger move and/or toy. Tigger is awfully cute!! lol Good Luck! hope soemoen helped.

he is doing it because he is a 4 year old little boy that loves tigger..that is all you need to understand. let him be that little boy..it does no harm whatsoever. I work in daycare with kids 6 months to 6 years..it is so normal to see a child your son's age to wear an specail outfit, one the child wants to wear over4 and over again. Don't worry, I'm sure you child's want to wear tigger coustume will end before he goes to grade school. Just relax..see the complete innocene through a child's eyes..and let him wear that tigger's costume whenever he wants.

He chose Tigger because he LIKES Tigger. Don't you know anything about Tigger? Tiggers is wonderful thing, their heads are made out of rubber, their tails are made out of spring, they're bouncy, flouncy, trouncy, fun fun fun, the most wonderful thing aboutn Tiggers is I'm the only one. That is WHY he chose Tigger. And NO don't take it away while he is sleeping let him BE Tigger, let him identify with Tigger. Twenty years from now you're going to look back on this time and wish with all your heart he could be Tigger again...

chances are he will grow out of it. I would let him wear it as long as you feel comfortable with tigger at your side. If you get embarrassed try letting him were a note that says "i dressed myself" Then it is an accomplishment and everyone thinks it's cute not strange. Also if he like wearing notes let him pick his next accomplishment, i.e. "I can count to 10" That may give him a good distraction and you a less embarrassing time in public. It worked for me!!

My son did the same thing last year with his Spider-Man costume ... it's actually totally your call. Chances are, he really loves his costume, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I, personally, let my son wear his costume whenever he wanted (making sure that he did wear actual clothes underneath, of course). He wasn't hurting anyone, and it made him happy. No big. Eventually, it got to where he wanted to wear it less and less ... I look at it like this: the money I spent on his costume was WELL WORTH IT! Good luck!

My 6 y/o and 3 y/o wore their costumes for a couple of days. Let them. It's just clothes. Pick your battles. Now it would only be a problem if he was 24...

He is just expressing control in the only way he can. If it bugs you take it away but be sure to let him pick out his own clothes. Kids like choices. (Now he may dress very strangely, but it is no big deal. Nobody ever died because they were wearing rain boots, suspenders and a tutu and a sweater. --or a male equivalent
