In the infinite universe it is very very likely that the number of Gods is infinite, too. Each God must have a God superior than herself. That is all to it. Either the Gods are limitless or there is no God at all. This is logic . The rest is nothing more than rubbish thinking or "feeling" as they might call it.....

i agree with headcase... we can't even be sure there is one.

In early Christianity there was much debate over the nature of god. There were even more sects of Christianity in the days before the canonization of the scriptures into what we now know as the bible. There were sects that believed that Yahweh was an evil god and Jesus represented a kind god and we should follow Jesus to escape Yahweh. There were some who believed Jesus to be nothing more than a human prophet for Yahweh, and even sects that believed that Jesus was possessed by a holy spirit during the time of his ministry that left his body just before his death on the cross.

That's just Christianity, we also have record of many pagan religions which practiced polytheism, and through out history there have been atheists who don't believe in any gods at all.

Anyone who says they "know" that god is real is quite frankly mistaken.

i am Muslim, & according to the Quran & islam there is ONLY one God (Allah)

BUT, lets suppose there r two Gods with equal powers (as u asked), from my point of view i am sure that they will have a problem, this problem is the difference between them in what they wanna create or do (becouse everyone of them has a point of view from the creation of anything (in the way he want) is different from the other one)
simple example: one of them wanna create a human male but the other one wanna create the same human female, its a simple difference but it can make a great problem between the two Gods
another example: one of them wanna make somebody rich, but the other one wanna the same person to be poor, the same problem happens

thats my point of view, whats ur opinion ??

i hope u got ur point from my explanation

One of the problems with monotheistic religions that claim that there is only one God, and that that God is good, is there has to be a theological reason for evil, and that generally means creating what is, in essence, an evil twin for the good God.

Well, as God has stated in every holy book and particularly in the Qur'an, there's only One. There's no god but Allah (< the name of God in the Islam).
