He has been to a doctor and he has been diagnosed with hand foot and mouth. It isn't anthrax.

My daughter had this when she was 2. The numerous blisters in her mouth were horrible. It hurt her to eat or drink anything even with a straw. We had to drop water into her mouth with a dropper to keep her from becoming dehydrated. Anyway, our doctor perscribed something called "magic mouthwash" that we would paint inside her mouth. I think it was made up of Benedryl and Milk of Magnessia. It was wonderful stuff -- worked like a charm. Ask a pharmacist or doctor. I don't think there was anything else in it, but I'm not sure.

Good luck to you. I know it can be horrible. She was sick around 7 days.

This can be a very painful disease making it difficult to eat or drink anything.
You can get a prescription spray to take away some of the throat pain and allow your grandson to eat and drink a bit.
Popsicles and other frozen treats may help the pain too and are a good source of nutrition for a few days as he gets better.
Make sure he rests and doesn't get dehydrated.

Coxsacki Virus, Type 1 and 2. Hand/foot/mouth. Alot different than hoof and mouth. A virus, like any other, needs to be fought off my your own immune system. Painful symptoms, in the meantime, can be helped with application of cold, Oralgel, for teething pain, can be bought over the counter. Sprays for sore throats, like Cepacol, chloraseptic, can help until it heals. Dave

I think you'd better get him to a Doctor right now. What your saying is he has Anthrax. Take him to an ER if the doc can't or won't see him right now, hurry.
