Personally, I think we should never have gone into Iraq, the United States is not and should not attempt to be the Worlds Policeman. Even Bush, when he was Governor of Texas, stated that the military should not be used for nation building, one of the very few things he ever said that I agreed with. Unfortunately, he did take us in, he had no actual idea what to do when we got there, and he had no idea how he was going to get us back out. The result is a Viet Nam type quagmire where we are throwing good money, and lives, after bad. That we should get out of Iraq is almost universally agreed. Our leadership, however, has left us no way to do it except giving up the way the Republicans did in Nam. Don't forget, Kennedy and Johnson took us into Nam and escalated the fighting, it was Nixon and Ford who pulled us out.

In time, yes we should. I think nearly everyone agrees on that, but the question is when and how do we leave?
Mass exodus right now by our troops will create a situation where there will be a power vacuum that several warring factions will try to fill. Until those warring factions either accept the new government or are controlled by it, the best we can hope for is slowly building up Iraq's ability to defend itself and leaving as their troops take over.
To be clear, it should NEVER be the policy of the United States to maintain a long term occupying force in a sovereign nation. We have our own problems at home that need dealt with. We don't need to take on another country's issues.

No, I do not think that we should get out of Iraq. Rather it would be good if the government should double the forces there to get the job done. That is the only thing I see that holds back the smooth running of democratic instututions. Lack of security.

ya and what about germany when we bailling out of there and japan and korea and the philipens and wait a minute. not evan one tenth of are forces are in Irag? hmm hmm. America owes the world a debt. Because America has promised the world for two hundred years something worth wild. America has promised the world that man can be free. Free to rule themselves. each country we occupy has defferent stories. Like germany decded that one man should rule everybody in the world. not once but twice. So that is kinda angenst man can be free. so we took them over and are there 60+ years. We don't rule but we have a presents. Anyway we need to keep good on our promise that man can be free. We should not back down becuase we will not be Americans anymore but people saying that I am free but they can never be free.
hope this helps

Absolutely, we have no right to be in their country killing their people. We only went in originally because our idiot president had a vendetta again Hussein. We got Hussein and now we need to let them worry about their own problems. America seems to think that they (we) are the police of the world, and all that does is get other countries pissed off at us. Not a day goes by that I dont see on CNN some country burning the US flag. Let the world worry about itself and we should concentrate on fixing our own problems (poverty, hunger, racism, healthcare, etc. that are happenning right here in our OWN backyard.)
