You only have to look at Red China, Communist Russia, Angola, Laos, North Korea, and Vietnam to know the answer to this.
Poverty, starvation, oppression, and despair.

It would be great! We wouldn't be fighting religious wars, everyone could get a free quality education, there would be more funding for science and medical research, and everyone would get along and stop descriminating against people.
Remember: Hitler was a Christian, and Stalin did NOT base his rule on science - it was pretty psuedosciency over there with Lysenkoism. We won't be banning religion, just not letting it take over.
