But.... I reckon there is a chance that the expression may have been based on the character from an old Laurel and Hardy film where the two are jailbirds.
The teacher guy asks Stan... "What is a blizzard"
"The inside of a buzzard!" says Stan then he makes rude noise thru tooth trouble.
I think the bald guy with the scarey eyebrows says... "DOH"

I dissagree with all of you. It's merely a sound he makes. It's like saying the sound flies make (bzzzzzzzzzz) stands for something. It doesn't, it's merely a sound that a human has spelled out the best he could to make better sense of it to the world.
