If they do go "to the paradise" where you are happy forever, What will be their happy/heavenly things to do?
Cats like hunting, dogs love bones, and all animals like one thing or the other.... (or will they play with the ball, chew bones till eternity?)
--------
If they don't go to heaven (some say they don't have souls but still say humans reincarnate as animals -- Hmm.. thats a contradiction)
Like I was saying... If they don't go to heaven, Why not? and what is their purpose on earth?
------
Sorry, This is a question for Christians, X-Christians (Atheists), and to-be Christians ONLY.
--
oh! I'm an atheist, and don't believe in souls, angels, gremlins, spooky things, or the Santa clause ^_^...

Mav. HOUSECATS ARE NOT THE GREATEST KILLERS IN THE ANIMAL KINGDOM! actually its the paramecium virus! but its not an animal. So it would be the Mosquito. But if you need to find the real killer, its the HUMAN being.

You don't believe in Santa RU? *Faints*
OK,back now. Still shaking my head over Santa tho!
I personally believe that all living creatures great and small go to heaven. I honestly don't know if it is in the bible tho. The Bible can be very complex at times and it doesn't come right out and specifically say,"Animals will all go to heaven. " But then the Bible to me is an interpretation. I mean that you can read the same passage one day and the very next day read it again and it will mean something completely different. AS for contradictions,I think the Bible has many because it is compiled of different letters from many different people. I think it all depends on what you choose to believe or not believe. This is what people call FAITH.

Hi AnswerMan!
Seriously, I don't know the "right" answer to this question, but let me suggest what might be possible...
I previously answered a question about whether an animal could/might/would believe in a higher power. I honestly feel that the answer is "Yes!" I recorded my reasons here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnTVuXTp5UIyQZUHKXu3uObsy6IX?qid=20060714044208AAdEaEF . I would suggest that, if an animal was able to believe in a higher power, he/she could ascend into Heaven. One of the verses that I quote in that answer says that an animal will be held accountable for killing a human. If he is to be held accountable, we would have to assume that he has conscience, choice, and free will. Aren't those the things that determine the existence of a "soul"?
It's my opinion that, if an animal does have accountability, he must have rewards as well. I don't see why a home in Heaven wouldn't be a possible reward.
What would an animal do in Heaven? I guess they get to run and fetch balls, chew on sticks, and eat push pins without danger! They probably play in non-matting burdocks, sleep on the bed, sharpen their claws on non-shredding sofas and chairs, and gallop in pastures without fences. The ultimate evolution will happen in Heaven, anyway, when animals become disease free and live forever. At that time, perhaps fish will grow legs (like the Darwin fish) and walk free of the boundaries of river banks. And maybe then chimps will swim without fear. Mosquitoes would land on people and not get swatted. People will sunbathe next to swamps and not be bitten by mosquitoes. As someone said above (the Lion will lie down with the Lamb).
OK... Seriously, I might be wrong. But, I haven't yet seen the verse that says that animals WON'T be in Heaven.

A soul, is defined by a being that is capable of concious thought, the ability to convey that thought AND higher reasoning. SO, whenever these "lower beings" begin to write down their thoughts or whatever, and then be able to tell other animals these thoughts, then have those same animals warp and twist what they originally were told so as to further their own social/eliteist standing, THEN they can have souls and then they can go into heaven. Oh, and it also helps to learn the value of money too. Apprarently this heaven thing? isn't a cheap place to get into these days.

it would be unfair for someone to believe that animals don't go to heaven,i mean humans being the only ones going to heaven, humans are mammals, which makes us animals,so if you don't believe that animals go to heaven then you believe that humans don't go either.it does not matter what the bible says, humans ARE ANIMALS.
The mammals are the class of vertebrate animals characterized by the production of milk in females for the nourishment of young, from mammary glands present on most species and specialized skin glands in monotremes that seep or ooze milk; the presence of hair or fur; specialized teeth; three minute bones within the ear; the presence of a neocortex region in the brain; and endothermic or "warm-blooded" bodies. The brain regulates endothermic and circulatory systems, including a four-chambered heart. Mammals encompass some 5,500 species (including Humans), distributed in about 1,200 genera, 152 families and up to 46 orders, though this varies with the classification scheme.
Phylogenetically, Mammalia is defined as all descendants of the most recent common ancestor of monotremes (e.g., echidnas and platypuses) and therian mammals (marsupials and placentals).

I have a story about a dog going to heaven. The basic idea was that a loyal dog would be important to the happiness of the owner, and therefore the dog would be in heaven with the owner. It was very sweet, and I wish I could find it.
Of course, for me this is all metaphor.

According to the bible..Heaven is a place of infinite happiness and joy.To obtain this state of happiness , not only the presence of God is essential but also , persons you deeply cherished and all the living creatures you loved on earth.( animals ) which were your companions in life.
If you are an atheist , then your question is irrelevant.

The Bible says that in heaven "the lion will lay with the lamb". This could literally mean that animals will go to heaven, but could also mean that everyone will get along. God created animals to be our companions and to help meet our needs.
