Doctors give you the run around I know and they really don't know how to treat it. the truth is, one needs to add up all the traumas in their life, their injuries, emotional traumas, birth etc. if an injusry occurrs and the body has not had proper therapy or eliminated all the trauma then the body and brain continues to send signals to the area surrounding the old injury to protect it. When the protective devices occur spasms occur...such as an old spinal injusry or a tailbone injury. The brain and body does not know that the trauma is over so it continues to protect the area. As a consequence there is fluid or static tension that holds in and traps toxins. It is the toxins that your body holds in that causes the pain. For example...people often think of what they see on their inner thigh or outer hips as sellulite. If you go in deep with heat and massage this acutally breaks it down so it cannot be cellulite it has to be sluggish or dead white blood cells that have been trapped. Try ddeplyu massaging your calves in a hot bath, splitting the gastrocnemius apart and digging in, massage toward the knee keeping a strong grip and staying deep between the muscle. You should feel a squishy type of felling and that is all those toxins being moved. By the time we are in deep total pain, we are full of toxins. I had a broken back, 3 ceasareans and years of anitbiotics treatmenet as a child. Therefore i had a lot of txic buildup that cuased me unable to move in the morning. I trained in Canada in myofascial release, ddep tissue massage and as a nutritionist. I subsequently, witht he aid of a chiropractic began treating myself. My body kept spasming bACK TO PROTECT THE OLD INJUSRIES. i DECIDED i NEEDED TO DETOS AND WITH HERBAL REMEDIES iAND HOEMOPATHIC REMEDIES BEGAN. wHILE THAT HELPED THE PAIN IN MY LEGS IT DID NOT KEEP THE CIRCULATION GOING ALL DAY. I SUBSEQUENTLY BOUGHT AN INFRA RED sAUNA WHIch provides deep heat into the muscle and stimulates the toxins to move. Talk about a lot of poops! The infrared aids your body to relax and circulation to occur. When this happns, the new red blood cells can move in, oxygenate the old injury, move out all the old gunk and help you heal. Once really needs to se a chirocpractor or massage therapist to move the joints that have been displace because of the different tensions caused by the toxins though right after a heat treatmenet and at least once a week until you can move them yourself. This goes on and on...i can tell you more if you want to email me at lgsparrow@hotmail.com. I want to tell you that the healing soes not take place over night. I still need to deal with the old injusires, have my neck and lower back put into place (stress causes it to go out again) and exercise. Fybromyalgia is a catch 22 illness...your body needs the exercise but you can't do it because your locked up in pain. i will tell you my sauna was my life saver..i don't get those blow off headaches and do not need pain killers and muscle relzxants any more. ps just read one of your replies...do not let people tell you that it is depression...that is the doctor's first answer ...the depression occurs because we've been in pain for so long...not only is your obdy full of toxins but the blodd supply to the brain as well....antidepressants aren't the answer...cleaning your system out and letting the body know it CAN heal now is the answer

There is no medically proven cause for Fibro. One thing almost everyone with Fibro has in common is an increase in what is called "Element P" in their spinal fluid. It is believed that this element is the primary pain transmitter for nerves and therefore having an excess causes the nerves to fire pain signals even though there isn't a specific injury.
It gets tricky because the arguments are circular, for example: Lack of sleep causes increased pain sensitivity and increased pain causes lack of sleep, or an illness can make a person who is pain sensitive feel worse and take longer to heal and person who is in pain is more susceptible to illness.
There is no answer and there is no cure. SORRY
