Parenting! Notice one person wrote Christmas. That person and too many others, have no knowledge as to why the celebration of Christ's birthday was started by the church.

Science, at our level (what we think we know so far) only explains how, why, what is happening, as far as our extremely limited knowledge allows.

The two go together! Bible - IT HAPPENED! Science - This is how!

But our science does not explain/comprehend create! Have nothing, created something. Everything humans make, they use EXISTING materials, Humans have never created any thing!

Atheism exist as a testimony to the perfection in GOD'S creation of humans! Instead of creating humans to LOVE HIM, meaning they have no choice, HE gave humans a free spirit, the capability to chose, and every being with different mental capabilities. Even as HE put females here for the male but HE did not make ALL females love every male!

Apathy, yes, look how few value family or education, even their health with their elephant size, drugs, and smoking!

Not any of the above, the greatest Threat to Christianity is the lack of Biblical Grounding among Christians. There is an appalling amount of Biblical Illiteracy in The Church Today.

The Church is just one generation away from Apostasy. We are not Teaching our Children What We Believe, and Why We Believe.

It is the belief that a church or a Christian can lead you to the truth that is the greatest threat to Christianity. God says that He alone can provide the truth. God says that by believing His Son Jesus Christ came and died for each of us will enable you to understand Him and His Word, the Holy Bible. Becoming a Christian doesn't mean you will suddenly be perfect. You will still have to deal with your own behaviour and all the problems of the world. Sometimes preachers, ministers, pastors, Christians, etc stop believing in Jesus and start to think they have all the answers. This is human nature. This causes Christians to fall into sin. God and Jesus are supernatural, spirits. The human mind and body are not but the soul is. Faith is believing in something you cannot see. Christians are required to walk by faith. We are not called to believe in a church or other humans. We are called to believe in Jesus. The Holy Spirit will enable us to understand God's word and to see God's hand in everything.

Facts are a huge threat to Christianity...or any religion for that matter. However the biggest threat are Christians themselves. When the fundamentalist evangelicals take over, when religion tries to rewrite history and science in favor of their dogma, when dissent is considered a punishable blasphemy...that's the time to be afraid.

Or really, really ticked off. Then it's time to go Neo on them.

The truth.

I heard that atheism is the second fastest growing "religion" in the world, after Islam.

While I'm not an atheist, I would rather spend the afternoon with an atheist than most Christians. At least we can talk about science, morality, politics and unless we get on the topic of spirituality, they aren't likely to tell me I'm full of it. :-)

Televangelists.

People like Randall Terry (Founder of Operation Rescue):

"I want you to just let a wave of intolerance wash over you. I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good...Our goal is a Christian nation. We have a Biblical duty; we are called by God, to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want pluralism." quoted in The News-Sentinel, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 8-16-93

Such people present a foolish and/or hateful image of Christianity.

I have to regularly remind myself not to look at all Christians that way.

I never had a problem with Christianity until I started talking to Christians (not all of them mind you, a lot are nice), if they could put me off sooooo quickly then I dont see why it wouldnt other people!
