I mean, I could see children falling for that, but grown educated adults that should know better? C'mon, grownups, parents, stop teaching and preaching intolerance and 'one way' crap. It's only hurting yourself and the children. We need to be more tolerant and compromising towards other people in order to work on ways to improve society as a whole, instead backlashing with guilty consciences based on heresay of what is obviously fiction.

Down with fundamentalism, up with logical common sense and genuine open-minded compassion.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i had difficulty with this issue for a long time, till i came to realize, that in some religions, the basic tenets of their faith only have/show, one way to God,,, a certain/one path, and while i can read some of the writings their faith is based on and see how it allows for other paths, their religion doesnt focus on that, they are not taught that, and i guess just dont see it. if you belong to a religion that feels there is only one way, certain steps, to salvation,,, then you must feel the others are wrong,,,,,

and as to the comment above about baby-boomers, hun we are some of the most free thinkers ever!

Well it has to ballance humanity out with those brainwashed into think there is no God, no purpose, nothing after this, no thought or love put into creating you, you're just a chance happening, and no hope for anything better than "this"

We should all be glad that some of us are concerned about consiquences of our actions and not only if we "get caught".

If there was no religion, there would still be the same amount of jerks messing things up for decent people. But then the decent people would either become jerks to preserve themselves (cant beat 'em join 'em) get frustrated and start killing all jerks (which wouldnt be too bad I guess except we can all be jerks at times) or just killing themselves because they believe its better to just not exist. Ever think of that?

Up with common sense, genuine open-minded compassion, and Love for all

Down with relativism. The whole "one truth" argument has nothing to do with being "open-minded" or "compassionate." Can I not think that I'm right and still Love my neighbor who is in the wrong? I just don't understand people who actually try to take a relativistic stand because there is quite literally nothing for it to stand on.

Relativism = all truth is relative... including this statement.

DOES NO ONE SEE HOW THIS IS FUNDEMENTALLY FLAWED DOCTRINE?

I would agree with being open minded as one can learn more things fom thinking outside the box; this helps a person to ask questions and to confirm if the religion they are in is truly what they bargained for. But as for your statement I would say that only some adults are being brainwashed not all.

Do you think the brain-washed know they are brain-washed? If they do not, couldn't you be brain-washed into thinking there is no true religion? Couldn't you be just as much a "victim" of your upbringing?

You yourself are teaching and preaching by demanding others shouldn't teach and preach what they believe. Apparently you think "your" way is the only way. Right? Otherwise, why would you believe it? No one holds a belief and then doesn't believe that their beliefs are true. That appears to be very intolerant itself.

It is the right of the people in America and Canada to freely practice their religion. Just as you have the right to your unbelief. So if you value the freedom in your country "get off our backs". I'll teach my children to believe in God and you teach yours to believe in, what? Why don't you improve society by being tolerant yourself and love your fellow man, with all his faults.

You don't understand what religion is. Think of it not as a bunch of brain-washed idiots so much as a huge percentage of society wanting a code of good behaviour that is time-tested. It is very comforting to be with others who believe in the power of love and in being good. YOU do not strike me as someone who CARES about aspiring to goodness and decency. Furthermore, religions are a repositories for cultures - that is why many religions have rituals that reflect their culture and well as their belief in good behaviour. Religions are not bad. Take a closer look.

Hey not all kids fall for it. I was 4 when I decided that the stories I was being taught from the Bible couldnt possibly be true (again just my personal opinion), but Santa and the Tooth Fairy were perfectly acceptable for some reason. I guess coz they gave me stuff, LOL!

Compromise is what has brought decay to human decency and everyday values. You don't have to be religious to see that.

As far as children are concerned, I'll raise my children as I see fit.Same goes for other moms and dads in here.

As far as adults turning their lives over to the lord. That is good news.

By the way, common sense is fundamentals. You don't have to have great intellect to know that.

Peace be unto you.
