buy em fresh and alive, small ones are cheaper AND taste better too
put em in the pot, SLOWLY heat up the water, they will try to get out, many people can't handle that so get somebody who can to hold down the lid. Boil for like 15 minutes till they turn red.
Make butter and lemon sauce for them.

1 gallon water
1/4 cup sea salt
1/4 bunch fresh thyme, leaves and sprigs intact
1/2 bunch fresh parsley, stems kept for steaming water and leaves finely chopped
1 cup dry white wine
1 lemon, juiced, plus 1 lemon cut into 6 wedges
5 lobster tails
1/2 pound butter
Pour 1 gallon of water into a large stock-pot, and add sea salt. Add the thyme sprigs and parsley stems, white wine, and lemon juice. Bring the pot to a rolling boil. Place the lobster tails into a steaming tray or colander, on top but not touching the boiling water for about 12 minutes, until the meat loses its opalescence.
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Bring to a boil until the milk solids have separated and sunk to the bottom of the pan. Remove out the clarified butter and place in a warm cup until the lobster is done.
Serve lobster with lemon wedges, drawn butter in a small bowl, and garnish with parsley.

If there's Steak there's got to be a grill, right? Steak and Lobster take about the same amount of time to cook on the grill place them side by side, when it's time to flip, flip. Get a small stainless steel pan or bowl and put your butter in there and put that on the grill too, melts nice, Heck if you have room left cut some Italian squash in half drizzle oil on them and throw them into the mix also. If it's grilled taters you wanted you should have started those half an hour ago, bring on the Steak Sauce!

Live lobster - prepare boiling water with crab boil or your preferred seasoning but at least some salt. Plunge lobster into boiling water & cover. Check for color shift on the shell from greenish to red. Split on cutting board with cleaver. If you've got the guts, no pun intended, serve with the roux (guts) left in place and drawn butter. If not, remove roux before plating up. Provide nutcrackers or mallets for cracking claws.
Dead tails - grill or saute, serve with drawn butter and a shaker of seasonings like Essence or Prudhomme's or Tony's.
Chunks - make a white sauce, throw in a can of Veg-all and call it Lobster Newburg.

Are you cooking a whole lobster or just lobster tail? If whole just drop the whole thing LIVE into a huge pot of boiling water! Serve with melted butter.
I sometiems add different spices and less water if cooking just the tails..like paprika and some garlic powder....best to cook just the tails...I don't like much else on a lobster.

Steam it.
Put an inch of cold water in the bottom of a big pot.
when it starts to steam put live lobster in it.
After about 10 minutes check the lobster, when it is bright red all over it is ready.
Serve with clarified butter, that means you just heat the butter in a pan and when the butter is clear you remove the foamy part and use the clear part to dip lobster in.
I always check www.foodnetwork.com for recipes, it's great!

You just get a big pot, fill it with water, boil the water, drop the lobster in (he will squeal!!) and close the lid. I like to add some crushed red pepper to the water. Boil for about 10-15 mins.

If it's live lobster, the humane way is to put it in cold water and bring it up to a boil. As the water gets warmer it puts them to sleep and supposedly they don't feel pain and don't screech.
That's what I've read, I don't think I could kill something right before I eat it. I'm a wuss.

It depends on what you have...do you have a fresh, live lobster? Or do you have frozen meat? Boiling seafood with lots of spices is simple, and always tastes great. Check out the food network website. They have lots of great websites.
