My core belief is that Jesus died for my sins. Lots of other things race through my head depending on the day, time, weather, mood, finances etc.---but that remains my comfort and my deepest belief.

That everyone has the right to believe what they believe and be what they be. No one else has the right to try to tell someone else what to believe because that's crashing into their rights and destroying it. While you have the right to believe what you believe you don't have the right to act on the beliefs that would destroy other lives because that would be destroying their right to believe what they believe. You can believe whatever you please, just be careful of what beliefs you act on.

Another core belief is that religion should never be used to dismiss or explain away a bad/wrong doing. Religion doesn't make a person do something evil, a person makes religion do something evil.

Life is what you make of it.

For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much - the wheel, New York, wars and so on - whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man - for precisely the same reasons.
