Persian tend to have a flatter face then domectic cats so there tear ducks are smaller than other cats.Call your vet up and ask for terramycin or just clean his eyes a few times aday.His/her eyes are always going to do this. But if he/she starts to cough or sneeze than that is a cold ans get him to a vet.

Persian cats genetically have flattened faces. I believe the goop is just discharge. I notice it more on Persians, probably because of their face shape. I don't know if it can be stopped if it's just discharge; try gently wiping it away with a damp cloth. If it seems excessive, or if the cat's eyes are swollen, somewhat shut, or the inside eyelid shows, take the cat to the vet to rule out any other possibilites, like an eye infection.
Hope this helps! Have a great Thanksgiving!

I have a torti and an orange tabby. My cats always have eye boogers too. My torti's left tear duct is clogged though so I clean her eyes constantly. Both my cats are always climbing through the storage room in the basement and under the stairs, areas that I don't normally clean, that have a lot of dust and spider webs...I think that's where a lot of the eye boogers come from.

sounds like URI. What you're able to do on your cat good now if that's what this is sparkling it with a cotton ball with somewhat heat water on it. And get on your vet ASAP so which you will get medicine.

Sounds like allergies. Many cats are allergic to the grains that they put in cat food (wheat usually) as fillers. Some cats are also allergic to certain types of cat litter such as clay litter (very dusty).
