Yeah she probably will, I wouldn't recommend a real tree btw as the smell makes them go a bit mad, well my cat does anyway, it's the same with chlorine. Happy Chrimbola!! xx

At 14 weeks old your kitten could not care less about following any rules. they are still a young baby. You can try to keep the less attractive ornaments near the bottom and let the kitten know, gently, that they are not allowed in the tree. ...but frankly you are asking a lot of the kitten with either a fake or real tree. Good luck!

One more thing to try is more kitten toys. Give the kitten toys that are supposed to be played with, and perhaps they will just not care less about the tree.

Oh she will have a great time climbing the tree, I think it's the best part of christmas when you can't find your cat anyway then suddenly the tree starts shaking, great fun.
There's nothing you can do to stop her, and why would you want to, she'll only do it a couple of times then she'll get bored. Warning though, don't put any decorations on your tree which have fluff or feathers on them. They love those and will rip them off the tree and run around the house with them. Mine used to bring them to me at night and leave them on the bed as a gift. All part of the joy of being a cat mother.
And they also have a thing about fairy lights and eat the bulbs when they are on, so be careful.

Good luck with this one! :) The tree will most likely be irresistible to kitty; the only surefire way to keep the kitten away would be to make some sort of kitty-blocking gate around it (maybe with presents?) You might try a cat repellant spray like Boundary; but it may not even compete with the tree's scent. Also, you would have to apply it every day or so. Maybe you will get lucky, and the kitten will care less about the tree. Regardless, make sure the tree is mounted securely in its stand to prevent the kitten from knocking it over, and try to keep the kitten away from breakable glass ornaments and hooks, as they can be dangerous. Good luck and happy Thanksgiving!

There's not alot you can do if she is determined to climb the tree. She will try to do this as it will be exciting for her. I finished up getting an artificial tree in the end, as ours were always trying to knock them over. Make sure that you don't decorate it with those silver and gold strands as she will try to eat them, and take care with glass baubles and those that are easy for her to chew. You will probably find that tree chocolates will be chewed at and loose cards knocked to the floor every two minutes! You will also need to be careful with tree lights as she may try to chew the wires or bulbs.

I had Burmese cats for many years our decorations got very boring as the years went on, as we couldn't be bothered to keep clearing up the chaos! However, I wouldn't have changed anything - Christmas decorations are up for a few weeks, the cats give pleasure for years. Have a great Xmas and enjoy your kitten.

All three of the cats I have had have tried to climb the Christmas tree, one even knocked the chocolates we had on the tree down and tried eating them. I just used a water spray when I saw them.

the first cat i had climb all the way to top of our tree she looked like the angle/star that sits on top lol we also lost a lot of ornaments that year lol so from expereince dont hang any ornaments low, a spray bottle might help to keep her away from it but dont be surprised if she doesnt climb it at all my second cat used to just sleep under in on the tree skirt (if that happens keep a lint brush handy to get the hair lol) good luck and hope your xmas is a good one :)

I have 4 cats and I am wondering the same thing. Is it even worth it? I love the holidays and a christmas tree, but I wonder how many times I will have to redecorate it? Anyone who has a lot of experience with this let me know if it is worth it?

she will climb it. You will not be able to keep her off it. Try putting some hooks in the wall and putting a cord around the tree and attach to the wall, or suspend it, or place it inside a playpen. Welcome to the joys of Xmas with cats.

Plant your Christmas tree in a bucket full of heavy pebbles so it does not move and only use non shatter baubles and icicle strings for this year just in case she does try to climb. Next year she will be mature and will not even give it a second look.
