Call your local dog shelters and tell them what you are looking for. You may be surprised, there might be something similar to what your needs are. Also, check you local craigslist.com, people are always needing to find new homes for puppies due to unanticipated circumstances.

Check Petfinder.com for Schnauzer Love Rescue Group. However, a home visit will be required. Schnauzers and poodles both require a lot of money to groom and keep, so be sure you guys are ready for the financial commitment involved in getting a dog.

How old are you?

Go to the shelter/human society. You can pick out any dog you want for free. But there's a catch; you only get to pick what they have, you can't special order dogs. If they don't have a poodle or a schnauzer, then either you mom will have to get a different dog or front the cash herself.

I agree with the majority here. dogs are expensive, while the initial fee may only be around 75 to 100 dollors for a rescue, the vet bills can add up fast. My 40 dollar pound dog has cost me well over $1000 and i've only had him a little over a year... he has medical issues. Anyway, if your mom can afford to take care of it (just b/c you may not have the $$ doesn't me ur mom doesn't) then check petfinder, that's how we found ours! good luck!

You can adopt one pretty cheap, I adopted mine through petfinder.com for 75 bucks. But caring for a dog is very expensive. You'll spend a couple of hundred on the initial vet visit, another couple of hundred on toys, leashes, etc. And a good 50/month on food and pet insurance. So if your mom is ready to take on an expense like that, then go ahead and adopt one, otherwise, it's best to wait.

Each adoption fee is different, so, if you click on any dog's name, you will get more information..
since most of these are already vet checked, vaccinated, and neutered/spayed..they are even BETTER than free!

Sorry honey but pets are expensive. If you cant afford to buy one then you cant afford to care for one properly. Save your money you sound young and mom will have more birthdays.

If you can't afford to buy one, you can't afford to own one. There is feeding, shots, when it gets sick, toys, treats, etc.

Wait til you can afford one...
