Yes.. because you generallly sign a promise to appear in lieu of being arrested. When you do not keep that promise it will be upgraded with a warrant for arrest. That arrest will require a hefty bail because you have shown that you do not keep promises. It used to be that being in another state was a almost certain way to avoid it, but now with computers to track you down, if you get picked up in another state you will be held whlle that state inquires if the first state wants to come and get you (via court proceedings). If they do then your goose is cooked.

LOL...That would take up WAY too much time and energy for the agencies involved.
Our traffic fine warrants are LOCAL only. TX DPS warrants do NOT show up when we run your name, only if we call them. (rare)
NCIC has strict guidelines as to what can be entered nationwide. (FELONIES, and some misdemeanors.)
Imagine owing 500.00 in Texas and being arrested in Maine?
Not worth the plane ticket for them to go pick you up.

I believe it would pull up your record when you apply for a new one elsewhere. When you don't pay them usually they end up issuing a benchwarrant in your name, no?
