i dyed my hair brown and then after a while it went back to this weird color. i waited a couple days before washing my hair after i dyed it but i couldn't help being out of the sun...but i dont think thats why the color went away. What brands have you used to dye your hair that really worked?

Was your original hair color darker than brown? If so, it will lighten after a few washing. And there is a possibility you didnt give it ample time to develop before rinsing the dye. But a word of precaution, do not dye your hair again so soon. The chemicals in it might act up and you are really gonna get a weird color.

It depends if you are looking into do-it-yourself or salon primped. My experience with hair dye is that for home product is herbal essences. This is the one i have dyed my hair blond with for years. It works great! At a salon, you would want to ask for "best quality" hair color. Most NYC salons have that option. Go with your instinct. Whatever you feel is probably the right choice. Only you know what you would look good with. Take into consideration all that these people on yahoo! answers have said and then come up with a solution that fits your routine.

I would go with Matrix they have really great products. All hair color lasts about 3 weeks anyway doesnt really matter what brand it is.Matrix makes the color stand out more and it gives your hair a natural shine

i used l'oreal and nothing happened when i went out in the sun. and u can wash ur hair after u dye it. make sure the shampoo is for chemically treated hair. anyways i would suggest u go see ur hairstylist and ask him/her to re-dye it. and if u dyed ur hair at home then get it done by a professional.

you need to use a color with Red tones to "fill" the cuticle. Any ash tones will fade to a greenish gray color. All browns will fade over lighter tones. Try keeping the color with a temporary rinse.

I like the permanent hair colour from Clairol...if you are careful and use a ton of conditioner to keep it fresh, it works well
