And if not, why would it have taken anything from Jesus' perfection?

I'm just trying to find out why a lot of people get freaked out at the thought of him being married, and play the "without sin, perfect" card, which seems like circular logic to me...

YES, if you're asking about OT times (prior to the time of Jesus' death). This is the reason why Jesus' celebacy should be unquestioned. Leviticus 15:16-18 reads:
16 ‘If any man has an emission of semen, then he shall wash all his body in water, and be unclean until evening. 17 And any garment and any leather on which there is semen, it shall be washed with water, and be unclean until evening. 18 Also, when a woman lies with a man, and there is an emission of semen, they shall bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.
The whole point of Jesus being a perfect sacrifice is that He never sinned and He was never defiled. As you can see from the passage quoted above, ejaculation defiles a man. Therefore, as difficult as it may seem for us to understand, Jesus never had sex.
However, Christians under the New Covenant are not subject to Leviticus 15.
Peace.

Sex is a gift from God to those who are married. However the Bible says if you are not married stay that way because you will be more focused toward serving the Lord and not your husband or wife. But if you cannot control your urges get married. Jesus was not married nor did he have sex he was the visible image of God, he was here for a purpose, to spread the Word. Not to have a romp in the sheets with mary magdalene.

Good question! Try looking at this from a different perspective. If Jesus wanted to have a wife, he was within his rights to have one. But Jesus is Love, and how loving would it be for him to be married and have children, knowing that he would have to go to the cross and go back to the father. I think that Jesus purposely did not get married because he didn't want to put a woman through that kind of grief and loneliness afterward.

Having sex inside of marriage is blessed by God. Sex is in the nature of human beings given by God so why would God be upset about something he has given ino every human being? It is how we practice those drives that really counts. We shouldn't turn into animals and do whatever we feel like. In the end, it is bad for us but we should have sex within the institution of marriage which is the best way to practice the power that God has given us.

Well, that's not it exactly. I can't say anything about the Da-vinchi code not having seen it. It's just that it doesn't matter because Jesus was never married. Also I have no faith in Leonado Davinchi. I mean dude was in a cult (no i did not just decide this i've been thinking this for about 6 years) If Jesus was married it would have been in the Bible.

I've never found a religion yet that believes sex between husband and wife leads to impurity. In fact, Ephesians says that sex between marriage mates is an important part of marriage. The only thing I've heard along these lines is that Mary stayed a virgin her whole life in order to remain pure, but I don't believe that teaching since they Bible never says this.

No it doesnt. It wouldnt have changed anything about Jesus' Holiness but it would have changed His ministry. He would have had a wife and probably kids to tend to and then couldnt have done all that He did. Plus, it would have left a Holy bloodline, which might not have been a bad thing but that was obviously not what God wanted for us. We'd be looking to Jesus' children and grandchildren down the line and not to Him.

I don't know if marriage would have taken anything away from Jesus' perfection. However, would you marry someone if you knew for sure you were going to become a martyr? I dont think it would be fair to the person he married, especially in a time where she wouldn't be able to earn her own money.

No. God originally gave us sex as a gift to be enjoyed among married people. (Yes it is for procreation, but it is also meant to be enjoyable). The problem is people pervert it and make it impure in so many other ways. But within the confines of marriage it is not impure or bad.
In fact the Bible even says we are supposed to have sex within marriage.
1Corinthians 7:4-6
"The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife. Do not deprive one another except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control."

No it doesn't. Having sex with someone your'e married to isn't wrong. As long as you're equally yoked (2 Believers that god has joined toghether, man & woman), not 2 men or 2 women. No it wouldn't have taken anything from jesus' perfection.
