I cannot locate it in any markets, specialty stores. I ordered on line but it will not get here in time for tomorrow. PLEASE HELP!!

You could boil even amounts of sugar and water, but it will be a little watery. If you want to thicken it, add some corn syrup and stir thoroughly, and keep a wet pastry brush at hand to get the sugar off of the sides of the pot, unless you want to have a sticky pot and half of the sugar you put in gone wasted. If you are using this for a pecan pie, I would suggest ALAGA cane syrup or molasses for a more flavorful pie. If you can't use these then the old KARO works very well.

Maple syrup, golden syrup, dark corn syrup are some I have used.
