One serving will not make you fat. One serving is not unhealthy either.

Unless you had it for a 3 course meal every day in large amounts, it could cause some unwanted fat. But Quiche once in a while is perfectly fine. Its made mostly from eggs, with a pie type crust. Just think of a thick omelete. Its much healthier than a hamburger or fries, like most of us may eat for a lunch.

Basic quiche is egg, milk, cheese in a pastry crust. Other ingredients such as vegetables or meats are often added.

An egg is protein and quite healthy. Milk and cheese are dairy and one serving of quiche will not fulfill your daily requirement. The pastry crust is the least healthy of the ingredients but since pastry crust is flour and fat (butter, shortening or lard), one serving of quiche would count as one of your three 'bread' allocations for the day.

While a lower calorie option might have been salad with lemon juice for dressing, if you loaded that salad with bacon bits, chopped egg, sunflower seeds, avocado and a rich creamy dressing, it not only would not stay with you as long as the slice of quiche, it could easily equal the number of calories you consumed.

What makes people fat is consuming more calories than they burn. No matter what you eat, if you consume more calories that you burn, you will get fat. Therefore it is as much possible to stay thin eating unhealthy foods as it is to get fat eating healthy foods!

Depending on what type, quiche can be quite high in calories and fat. But, one serving once in a while is no cause for concern. It's all about moderation.

quiche is probably a bit fatty cuz of the butter for the crust and the eggs and cheese in the filling. But one serving isnt going to kill you. everything in moderation.

Most quiche is made using whole eggs, cream, or half & half or whole milk and regular cheese. It is not fat free or cholesterol free.

In moderation, it is good and healthy.

Talk to a dietician if you continue to feel concerned.
