my daughter is 15 months and does the same thing. Its usually because they know what they want, and just can't communicate it adequately.

No it is not to young at all. Most have their 1st temper tantrum at 18 months. Don't feed into them or they will happen more often. You just have to put them in a room that is safe for them and check because you never no. Then check on them every 10 min until they are finished with acting out their frustrations. This may be the first , but certainly not the last. After they are done, talk to them to find out what the hell in a baby kind of way.Kids will test you even as they get older, you need to do this right at the beginning, good luck and if your still not sure, buy a book or ask your parents, my mom was and is great. It's good to have a mentor in parenting, it's helps. Good luck in your ventures!!!!!!!!!!

No kids start when "they" start. My son didn’t start his till now and he’s going to be 3 in February. The pediatrician told me if he’s out of hand, obviously the corner wont work and time outs don’t really apply to him as he can’t comprehend it, I was told to wrap my arms and legs around his body gently but securely and hold him till he is done. Talk to him rock him. Ask him why he’s so angry, most of all acknowledge that he’s angry. Some children have temper tantrums because they are over stimulated. Try giving him less toys, taking him out after naps not before. Making sure he’s been fed and all of his needs have been met. So far i've had many more pleasant days then the so called "bad" days. Remember you get cranky and have bad days too, only difference is that you have a whole vocabulary at your disposal and he doesn’t. At three it’s still hard to put into words how he is feeling, sometimes it’s just not enough to say I'm mad.

Actually 12 month is the tantrum time, and yes the terrible twos start about 15-18 months and go through like 3 1/2. Good luck.
stick strong, just put them in a safe place and let them have a tantrum. if you give in they will expect it everytime. the first child is so hard, but trust me it is worth it. out in public, people will be much more happy that you decide to not SPOIL your child by rewarding his bad behavior..

Definately not too soon. I have a 28 month old and a 16 month old who is already in her terrible twos. I thought as a new mother that the terrible twos would start on their 2nd birthday. Boy was I wrong. Instead of the terrible 2's they should call them the terrible 1 1/2's. Good Luck!

no, its not too soon. there is no built it alarm that goes off and tells him its time to start throwing fits. don't let the name of it fool u, it does not end at 3, sometimes it can last until age 5. it reaches its peak at 2 years old and around 3 or 4 it slows down.
they just start the tantrums when the time is right for them. good luck! :-)

Nope. Not soon at all. He's a child and it's going to happen.
What you should try to do when he acts like that is ignore him.
Another thing you could do is start issuing time outs. You're never too young to learn that you can't do whatever you want and get away with it. Teach him now the consequences of his actions and you won't have such a hard time later. Be stern too..You're in charge!
