hiccups are basically due to diaphragmatic irritation , stamach is the comon cause of irritating it, as it is sitting close to diaphragm for example swollowing air, fatty food when stomach swells up it causes diaphragmatic irritation but genearly there is no specific pathology for hiccups . sometimes it is related with some disease, especialy the one involving the nerve supplyig diaphragm /

Your having spasms or twitching in your diaphragm.

i don't think so. If that's true, i've never heard of it. All i know if it happens when you take a breath wrong.

that is not true it is from swallowing air and it getting in you r lung s and it is your lungs way of pushing it out
