If you go to a good piercer and take care of your industrial, it shouldn't hurt too bad. The piercing procedure itself is done and over with very quickly and isn't bad for most. The next few days to few weeks, the overall area will be sore to the touch and you will need to use care to not sleep on the area or cause trauma to it. Keep in clean, you'll be fine.

Some people use two separate CBRs during healing and report better healing with less pain while others will use a single barbell from the get-go. Do whichever you feel would be more comfortable and practical for you. (Personally, I do my orbitals and industrials as separate rings, then for free will put a single piece of jewelry in later)

I got mine done and I'll be honest with you... it hurt like nothing else. And I have a few tattoos and other piercings. It really did hurt me, but one of the reasons is because my ear doesn't curve that much, so it was hard for the guy to get a good angle and keep the clamp on. The first hole didn't hurt, but the second one hurt a lot. Also the healing process was really uncomfortable, and painful for like the first week - 10 days. I'm not trying to scare you into not getting it done!! I love it now, and I'm glad I did it.

I should note that ALL of my piercing have healed like this. Every one (except my nose which didn't give me any grief at all, ever) has been swollen and sore for a week at least. I guess that's just how I heal.

Good luck!!

Whenever you get more than one piercing done at a time, often the second (and so forth) will hurt a little more. Not because of the location but because of mind games.

Oh the first one didn't hurt at all, the second one will be just as easy....ouch! is sort of how it goes.

Really though, it shouldn't be unlike any other ear piercing. I do recommend going with separate cbrs before the long barbell.

I have an industrial, and I am looking at everyone's responses talking about all the problems they had; I NEVER had a problem with mine. No pain, no bleeding, no soreness, NOTHING. I absolutely LOVE it! It is probably my favorite thing next to my tattoo.
