It keeps on coming up and I don't want that to happen anymore, so what can I do? I have Windows XP Home Edition SP2.

They do make it very hard to get it off your computer. You can disable it but its still there and every now and then it just manages to get it self active again. Pain in the butt.
I use TuneUp Utilities. http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/
It was the only way I found to get rid of it. It will completely remove it from your system, (it also does all this nice fine tuning, speeds things up, registry cleaners etc.)
Great program that you can download and try for free. Then, if you like it pay for it, if you don't, remove it.

If you have Windows XP:

Click on "start". Two collums will pop up. Look for "control panel." It'll be in the second one towards the top.

Open your control panel and select "add/remove programs"

You'll need to look for the messenger in the list and select remove.

Good luck!

1. open messenger
2. click "tools"
3. click "options"
4. find the checkbox that says something like " start with system startup" and remove the checkmark and then close it and then right click on the icon in the taskbar (bottom right corner of the screen) and click exit....you will never see it again.
