Is there any way that i can check whether there is any energy left in a battery?

You can either put it in a flashlight to see if it works, or you can get a battery meter.

Use a simple battery tester or multi-meter. If you don't have one or don't know how to use it, try Radio Shack or any battery store (Batteries Plus, Battery Patrol, etc.) They will usually do it for free.
