Yes they are, Karo is the name brand of corn syrup. I have used store brand corn syrups, and have found they work just as well as Karo brand. But, Karo does have the nice squeeze bottle. LOL

Yes! If the recipe calls for light corn syrup, use the light colored Karo. If it calls for dark corn syrup, use the dark colored Karo.

karo is just the brand's name. i perfer karo white syrup to any other white syrups for some reason. I have brown syrup. blech!

Yes, in the US you have light and dark here in Canada we have a golden colour and in recent year they have introduced a light or colourless variety, you have to decide if the dark is best or light, pecan pie are best with the dark but can be made with the other, the colour is just the object and they just add a carmel colouring to the dark.

Yes, it is the same thing. It is very sticky. It is found on the baking aisle at the grocery store. Sounds like your making a new recipe. Have fun.
