I'm on 90 mgs of Methadone for about 5 months almost now. Started on 10mgs of lexapro 5 days ago, and am now adding the Soma. My doctor does not know that I am on Methadone when I got prrescribed the Lexapro and the Soma. It made me quiet more drowsy when I started on the Lexapro. Them today I took a soma And it made my methadone feel almost twice as strong. Which of the medicines do you think is responsible for making me so drowsy. Should I cut one of them off? I don't want to be so high I'm like a vegetable now. I take the methadone because I got out of using heroin and have not touched it since. Which I plan to stick to even though I know it will be hard but I did enough of that, and that phase of my life is complete. Now I feel Its the Somas that are really knocking me out mixed with the methadone. I got the soma for shoulder blade pain from a car accident I was in. I would really like it if someone or a profesional in the medicalfield could give any ansewrs or suggestions.thx Joe

You ALWAYS need to tell your doctor(s) ALL the drugs you are taking so you don't get any drug reactions. Methadone mixed with soma will certainly make you sleepy. Lexapro is less likely to make you sleepy, but in combination with the other 2 drugs, it certainly can increase the effects--- and every one has different reactions to medications.
It is VERY dangerous not to tell your doc that you are taking methadone--- I'm sure you probably uncomfortable & dont want someone to think badly of you because of your past addiction--- but honestly a doctor NEEDS to know about addictions, and needs to know what you are taking in order to make sure he or she doesn't kill you with what they prescribe for you.

PLEASE call your doctor NOW--- even if it's after hours--- they will have an answering service page them & tell them what you are taking. Dont stop taking the Methadone, and dont stop cold turkey on the other meds until your MD tells you what to take in place of it. There is certainly some other medication you can take for the pain you have from your car accident
Best of luck

WHY (???) ARE YOU TAKING METHADONE ??? that's a exceedingly addictive drug that's often used to wean human beings off heroin. It satisfies the junkie's yearning without giving quite some the narcotic outcomes linked with heroin use. that's much greater addictive than heroin itself and it additionally alters the actual visual charm of customers so as that they get that 'junky' seem - sunken cheeks, gray looking pores and skin, and on occasion ,weightloss. The section outcomes of Prazosin hydrochloride are drowsiness, Nausea, problems, Palpitations, plus usual weak spot and Lethargy. when you consider that Methadone produces those comparable outcomes of lethargy, drowsiness and weak spot in customers that's no longer beneficial to combine those 2 drugs with the aid of fact the only will potentiate the different and you will possibly desire to nicely finally end up experiencing an overdose, and have faith me, that's a difficulty which you extremely prefer to stay away from !!! Verdict ;- do no longer pass THERE !!!!!!!

I'm surprised that you're able to type without falling asleep. You should ALWAYS tell your doctor, pharmacist, etc EVERY medication you're taking so that they can prescribe the best thing for you. I would suggest calling your doctor's office immediately and explaining the situation so that he can decide if he wants to switch you to something else or have you discontinue one of your meds.

I am not a professional but I do know that Anna Nicole Smith's son recently died from mixing methadone with antidepressants. Call your doctor ASAP!
