I'd probably either be back in Armor, Infantry (AA) or Maintenance. 17 years of experience would benefit them, but I doubt I'd be taken since I'm a disabled vet.

I would join a service that I like better. I wouldn't want to be drafted to the front lines. If I joined a certain specific group, at least I will have a slightly better chance of doing what I would like to do.

Given the fact that I have a medical condition, I probably could not be drafted. If I was, however, I would probably serve as administrative aide in a headquarters here at home or maybe overseas, if necessary.

I'd go again.
And the Army doesn't draft. When you are called you are placed in the service that has the most need at the time. Usually Marines, then Army etc..........

I'm to old but if I were draft age, under the current conditions, I wouldn't report. There is a covenant between the government and the military. The military promises they will do what the government calls on them to to do, without question, and to the best of their ability. The government promises that they will not call on the military unless absolutely necessary and will provide them with the best civilian and military leadership possible and the best tools to accomplish the mission. The military lived up to it's part of the bargain in Iraq. The leadership in Washington didn't live up to theirs.

drafts are only implemented as a last resort and if there are no more troops then that means our country is vulnerable. i would go willingly even though i've already decided to join now.
if you run, you are a coward for taking advantage of your freedom. if you go and fight, you are defending it, serving your country, helping your fellow soldiers, and fighting for a better tommorow for your family.

"If you where" or "if you were" ? Because if you happen to be where they are drafting, you can still be lucky enough to avoid being drafted, but if you were drafted there is little you could do, unless you happen to be a conscientious objector in a country where such freedom of opinion is recognized.

Go into the Army...hell I don't want to do it but if I was forced into doing so I would gladly go and be alongside those that actually had the balls to sign up out of their own free will to defend our country....
