LOL You've gotta love global warming alarmists, haven't you!
How many people above have said that the Gulf Stream will shut down and throw Europe into an ice age?
Strange, that didn't happen during the last spell of global warming during the Medieval Warm Period when temperatures were 3°C warmer than now. The Vikings had settlements and farms on Greenland (where today there is permafrost) and we could grow grapes in England (sorry, no bananas though!)

no, it wouldn't be a good idea to just let climate change happen. climate change doesn't only affect temperature; it also affects rainfall, so if you just let it happen, you won't be able to grow major crops in places like the midwest. this lack of food could cut down the world's carrying capacity. this could lead to an economic disaster comparable to the great depression of the 1930s.
also, sea levels will rise as polar ice caps melt, which might flood your garden...and your town...and maybe even your entire country.
besides, even if global warming were to happen, England wouldn't get warmer: instead, it'd get cooler. since the country is kept warm by the gulf stream current, and since the gulf stream current would shut down if you added the water that just melted off the ice caps, the weather in England would be just like the weather in Siberia.

By the time merry old england is warm enough to grow bananas, it would also be (mostly) underwater!
In addition, global warming means just that. If it gets hot in the UK, imagine how hot currently tropical countries would be - it'd be a burning desert. Drought. starvation and mass extinction would follow.

Because before the temperatures reached what you would need them to be to grow bananas sea level will rise and your family, town, and most of your country would be underwater. This might make tending to your fields difficult.

It's bad for the environment. You "will" have to plant bananas in your garden if global warming happens. Because there will be no bananas, sugar, oranges, and many other in the supermarket that buy them from south america and Africa. You see now?!

because its likely that as the earth warms and the icecaps melt, the increased levels of fresh water dumped in the ocean will shut down the gulf stream. have you ever seen 'the day after tomorrow'? kind of like that but less dramatic, we'd be like northern canada. bananas no... ice rink yes
