Registered Nurse here; Your problem is far to complex to address here on Yahoo. I strongly encourage you to make appointment with mental health professional. You need major counseling, guidance, support and possibly a medication regimen. This is a from of self-mutilation. It is serious, and if you do not get the approiate help, things will only increase in seriousness. Please make an appointment with a mental health professional, or your private physician, he or she will be able to get you stated in the approiate treatment. You need not feel you have to mutate and scar your on body. Something is seriously wrong and you need help.
I appreciate the opportunity to address such a sensitive question, and I pray you seek help.

Okay...the first step to recovery is admitting the problem has resurfaced. Good for you. You are doing the right thing by reaching out.

Think about why you have started doing this again. It is getting closer to the holidays....does that make you nervous/ re-open old memories?

When something happens that makes you cut yourself, stop, and recognize what is really, really making you do what you do. You have to make yourself stop. You are the only person that can do that.

Just calm down, slow down, and pay attention to what is happening.

Here is something I learned that works very very well:
Sit in a very quiet place alone, and close your eyes.

Visualize yourself in a room, with 3 doors, or escape hatches.
One door is suicide. One door is hurting other people, and the 3rd door is cutting yourself, or other ways of self harm, like driving wrecklessly, or abusing drugs/alcohol.

Now...see yourself identifying each door, and CLOSING each one, vowing never to open those doors again when you are in a desperate situation.

You see, when we are upset, we sometimes get to the point where we see no other way to cope with stress. We only see those 3 escape doors. Close them. There are other ways to deal with upsetting situations. As long as you refuse to use those doors, you will do great!

I would continue to get counseling too, but what I just told you has saved my life in many many ways. Good luck, and happy holidays!

1. Don't feel guilty.

2. Know that people care.

3. Ask yourself why got so mad at yourself, if you were mainly just mad at others for something they did, or if it was something that was totally your fault that made you angry.

4. Tell someone how much pain you're in---a friend, a counselor, or someone else who can help.

5. Repeat steps one and two. Work on forgiving yourself, and know that people care.

6. Improve your situation, if possible.

First of all, stop getting angry at yourself, because it only makes things worse. If you have a problem with cutting you should talk to a psichiatrist, parents/relatives, or a preacher of some sort, but you need to get yourself some help. And instead of cutting YOURSELF, you could try cutting something like cardboard when you get upset.

Strictly avoid internet, TV, movies and any vulgar things, go outside the room but not lonely place, mixed up with people, let talk them, u only here, make routine and strictly work as per routine...get busy some ware.... do job... don't think (+ve as well as -ve because both are relative things), do sleep early in night and wake up early in the morning, do exercise for some time in the morning or evening... make routine of this...get habitual for it...for this you required minimum 2 months (but not less....), if u are planning for going to the psychiatrist.....then also u should remember some things.... tabs that that physiatrist gives will start to showing their effect on your mind will take some months if every thing goes well..... And treatment is very costly (fees + cost of drugs) don't avoid psychiatrist but do remember previous things… he might also suggest you to change your lifestyle.... if conversation goes properly...therefore start to change your life style now...I know it's not easy but it is not impossible also... only don’t expect result instantly please............ (Be patience for 6 months at least...and should follow the routine.... I’m expecting your email if you find useful these suggestions… but after your cure…God blasé you!!

Talk my friend talk!

Find another way to vent your frustartions, a good friend is worth more than anything in the world & it could help you allot just by venting.

Listen to music, run, anything!! Get out your emotions in a healthy way--don't let your emotions run you darling--because someday, you will look at all of your scars & really regret it! Trust me, I do every day!

getting rid of knives and sharp objects in the house would be a good start, then go get yourself some plastic cutlery, then make an appointment with a psychiatrist, then if your old wounds are still bleeding, put on a bandaid and ask yourself, WHY DID I CUT MYSELF???

Get professional counselling to help you sort out your issues. Cutting yourself can lead to more self iinjury and mutilation, or possible death. Get help before it's too late.

i suggest...stopping. self inflicted pain is never a good way to take away from your emotional pain. you could seriously injure yourself and you should take life more seirously. some people wish they could be healthy and physically okay, and you are taking it for granted by harming yourself. nothing is bad enough that should make you want to hurt yourself, its just not logical, its not helping the situation. see a doctor.
