Do something that the judges can learn from. Those are always winners. For example, some one the projects that won in my location are: Who makes the strongest fishing line? Out of all the towns in you county, what town has the cleanest drinking water? What color of roof keeps a home the warmest/coolest? You can find some good ideas off of the internet.

My Daughter saved all Her baby teeth and did the experiment of what are the effects of long term use of Cola,sugar water,milk,diet cola and water. She let them soak for about a month she won first place. Just follow all the instructions that you are given for the Science Fair. most judges don't care if your project works or not they like to see that you followed the steps (Hypotheses,Experiment and the conclusion) do this and you will win...

I did one on if talking or singing to your plants actually helps them grow. It did well. I wasn't very consistant though and got honorable mention... of course, I don't know what grade you're in. I was in the 5th when I did that... WAY back when.

Look it up an emergency suitcase for u,in case of a storm encourage all people to be prepared.
