I am finding that when i am in the shower washing my hair that it is coming out. Not in big clumps or anything but enough to block the drain sometimes :(

I usually wear my hair up in a bun and brush it once a day. I wash it every second day.

Any ideas of why it is falling out or what i can do to stop so much of it?

Any answers are much appreciated!

Your hair is falling out because you probably dont put enough oil in your hair. Or maybe you dont maintaim your hair how you are supposed too.

It is natural to lose approximately 50 hairs a day which is part of the natural hair growth cycle. If you are losing excessive amounts there are many causes for this - stress, diet, medication, products and many more, many off these reasons can cause the hair follicle to stop producing hair and become blocked.

If the loss is really concerning you try to find a salon that retails a product range called NIOXIN. This range is designed for hair that is 'thinning' - meaning basically losing more than 50 hairs a day - and will cleanse the scalp and clear the follicles allowing the normal growth cycle to resume. (Alterna also have a similar product called Life Restore). Be aware that these can be fairly expensive, but worth it! The salon retailling the products will be able to tell you more and 'prescribe' the best selection of products for you as there are several different choices depending on how drastic the hair loss is.

Hope this helps, I know how it feels to worry about hair loss!

An interesting fact about Vitamin B: Certain experiments were conducted with rats and they were fed with food that lacked magnesium supplements. It was found that they lost their hair in bunches and when they were provided with a low biotin diet they turned hairless. But to the surprise of all, their hair returned when they were fed with food rich in Vitamin B. Similar studies were conducted on men and it was found that Vitamin B enriches the quality of hair. The body also requires Vitamin A. Fatty acids such as primrose oil, flaxseed oil or salmon oil need to be consumed for enhancing hair growth.

Vitamin E is meant for stimulating the oxygen intake in the body and improves the blood circulation. If there is proper blood circulation, hair growth is enhanced. Vitamin C assists the normal functioning of capillaries that carries the blood to the scalp. Even zinc is an important supplement, which should be consumed as it assists hair growth.

Biotin is necessary for hair growth. There are many sources of biotin such as brewer's yeast, brown rice, bulgur, green peas, lentils, oats, soybeans, sunflower seeds, and walnuts. It is present in some shampoos, so you can use shampoos, which contain biotin. It is advised to consult a physician before taking any vitamins or medications for hair growth.

1.Massage the scalp for 10 to 15 minutes after bathing with water. This stimulates the blood circulation and strengthens the hair follicles in the scalp.

2.Massage the scalp and hair with coconut milk or Aloe Vera gel. Leave it for ½ hour, then rinse with warm water. Repeat 3 times a week

3.Massage into the scalp and hair honey with egg yolk. Leave for a 1/2 hour, then rinse.

4.Massage almond oil on scalp 2-3 times a day, daily. This will stop further hair loss.

5.Rinse hair with a mix of apple cider vinegar and sage tea to help hair grow.

Take care!

My hair is a little past shoulder length and while I'm in the shower my hair breaks off alot..........I mentioned this to my doctor because it was happening quite frequently and also when I combed my hair after the shower alot comes out on the comb after one brushing. He says it could be lack of vitamins in my diet and suggested that I take a multivitamin for women and to make sure I have vegetables and protein in my daily diet.
Since I have been taking the vitamins I do see alot of improvement. Just a little hair comes out now.

My wife has long hair and there is always some that comes out when she is in the shower. Its normal for some to come out when you wash your hair or brush it but if you feel it is more than usual then pay a visit to your Doctor.

Hi yeah my hair falls out to. I had iron deficiency anemia and my doctor said thats why it falls out. Funny because i had a blood test done last week and my doctor said that my iron levels are well up so am not anemic anymore! And inshalla my hair will grow back soon. So get your blood tested. Also take Sea Kelp and maybe Vitamin B complex. Massage your scalp with oil regularly.

The nits are turning on you. They get settled in, breed a lot, and soon there are huge colonies. But then, when they reach a certain level, gang wars break out between the nits, and they may tear your hair up. The best remedy for this is to constantly threaten the nits in public.
